★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My wife’s been going to Lou’s for years before we were married because he’s genuine and trustworthy. I’m fairly handy with cars but won’t do everything myself. After we got married and I met Lou, I can vouch he’s definitely solid. I’ll bring anything to him I can’t do myself and when I’m too busy he’s now my go-to guy (I used to go to bigger chains for various reasons). He’s personally involved with each case, and it’s great to see a real local business thrive. They’re involved with the community as well. He benefits from regulars and word of mouth because they are good, yet he doesn’t want to expand... it’s nice to see a really well run shop that isn’t a franchised big box where you’re just a faceless number and they have a list of policies and costs for every little thing. If Lou says it’s a problem, then it is... he’ll also be up front and ask if you really want to spend big bucks on a car that may not be done having problems. Lou’s told me NOT to bother spending money on a car my son had because it was a lot and might not be done with issues, even though it meant nothing for him except just the initial cost of assessing it. Cars can be money pits, so you need a decent person as your mechanic!!
As an aside: I feel for this trade because they’re expected to guess at what’s going on inside the car without actually opening it, and when folks spend money to find out what the problem is, they only want good news (of course!) -- remember the mechanic doesn’t break the car, but a good one will give you the real skinny even when the news is unfortunate... then they’re either making it solid again for you or have given you the facts so you can make a painful but proper decision.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I went to Lou's Automotive to get the A/C fixed in my car. They weren't able to fix it for me, but referred me to, and arranged for another shop to fix it. It was done in a timely and professional manner. Lou was very kind and took the time to accommodate my needs.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We took our vehicle to Lou's today for the first time based on the recommendation of a friend and were not disappointed! Everyone at the shop is extremely friendly and professional. They got our car fixed very quickly and for a great price! We always had trouble in the Soo finding a great shop but from now on we will go to Lou's Automotive!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Brought in for brakes then inspection for 1...car didnt go in until 330 and didnt do brakes..only safety inspection...when i asked why he didnt do brakes seeing as i was from out of town he gave lame excuse as he forgot even tho i gave him the brakes to do he again had nothing to say but still charged full price for safety and told me to take vehicle elsewhere...very rude ignorant and not professional...will never go back ..willalso let everyone know how he treated me!!

The guys at Lou’s were SO helpful and efficient and really helped us out so we could get on the road safely. Coming from Toronto it felt so nice to have such friendly service - we cannot recommend these guys enough for anything you need!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This place is truly amazing, Lou is the best and most honest mechanic I have ever met. I took my truck there for an out-of-province inspection. It turns out the parking brake is not working. I am not local and have to leave the next day. Lou did everything he could and fix the problem on the same day. Appreciate the work they have done. Definitely recommend!
