★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is where I have bought all my music supplies. I have taken lessons there as well. During the 2020 lockdown I made use of their rental service. Great prices. I rented a few guitars and decided to purchase one as I didn't want to take it back.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I recently had the pleasure of dealing with the great staff at this location of long and mcquade.
I ordered my epiphone les paul studio guitar online and it had probs from the start. Rather than paying shipping to get it exchanged or repaired at the manifacturer I decided to let long and mcquade handle it. They diagnosed, set it up and restrung it for under 100 bucks and were extremely helpful throughout the entire process. It ended up needing some wiring resoddered. The shipping would have cost way more. They also cleaned the guitar so when I got it back it played and looks brand new. Bravo guys! Thank u so much!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ As a senior I decided to get into playing the saxophone during covid. I started to deal with the cambridge store and was very pleasantly surprised with the service. Their rental program is very flexible and allowed me to try all the various instruments and recording equipment prior to making my final selection. Returns were easy. I finally purchased used saxophone that they located in their Kingston store. I did have it checked out by Saxonia music services- who are also excellent) and am very satisfied. Prices are usually better than amazon’s and the staff is willing to negotiate the prices and financing terms. Buying local pays off. Regards victor

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I want to give TEN stars. I took my tenor ukulele in because it had a buzzing C string. The gentleman who helped me (forgive me, I forgot his name) was fantastic. We tried one quick fix - putting batteries in the little drawer (it has a built in electric tuner), which was an improvement but it was still buzzing. Then he suggested an internal humidifier since the frets were sharp which meant that the uke was dried out. One week in a sealed case with the humidifier, and the C string is much clearer and the frets stick out less. I look forward to more improvement over time. I was so impressed because he could have suggested all kinds of expensive repairs, but instead suggested a simple solution to start. He spent more than half an hour with me trying to trouble shoot, and I came out with having spent only $25 rather than hundreds in repairs. That's integrity. Thank you so much!

Chad immediately tried troubleshooting my wiring issue on my guitar right on the spot.. had to leave it for Ted there Tech guy, and of course fixed it all up for me. Dealt with Fred over the phone and in person after and the dudes awesome.. dealt with him for 15+ years and still the same cool rocker! Thanks again boys for the service! ??

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great place! I bought my niece last year a keyboard from here as a special Christmas present, and she absolutely loves it! I purchased another keyboard from here (Casiotone CT-S300), and it has worked out very well.
Music books: Great supply of piano books from the major brands: Piano Adventures, Bastien, Faber, Alfred's, etc. They also sell books of scales, Christmas piano music, Disney princess piano music, etc., etc.
Instruments: They sell guitars (ridiculous amount of variety), pianos and keyboards to physically try out (around 9 in store), recorders, etc. They have some in stock to take home. We just purchased a full-sized electric piano today (Roland) with weighted keys and a wooden stand, and they had it in the back.
Warranties are offered on instruments.
Service: They are great at offering you help, and not to the point that it is annoying. They are friendly.
Store size: It is quite large.
Wheelchair accessibility: They have a ramp leading up to their store.The wheelchair button wasn't working when I checked it though.
Hours: Mon. - Fri. 10-8, Sat. 10-6, and Sun. 12-5.
They have an online store to purchase their items as well.
COVID: They have hand sanitizer at the door. They ask you to wait outside of the store if they are at capacity.
