Dr. Zina was a natural with our son! Her kind, compassionate nature made our entire dental visit a breeze. She knew just the right way to approach our toddler in order for him to feel perfectly comfortable in a dental chair. To top it all off the clinic is beautiful and our son was instantly at ease in the fun waiting room. I don't think we'll have any problems bringing him back in 6 months time!

Usually a 9yo child has two reactions toward dentist, and for my autistic girl, it’s never the love to go that reaction. I understand there are kids afraid to go to dentist, and trust me, I can totally relate for being the mom that needs to get her autistic girl to only walk into that door. Dr. Shannon is my girl’s dentist, and although this is only our second time, but I can see the caring and professionalism in how she treated my girl’s teeth. She is also very open about what parents think for what’s the best way to help their girl, communication is the key. The nurses are extremely patient and having those kids inside their hearts, unlike my girl’s previous pediatric dental clinic. I’m looking forward to have my autistic girl’s teeth being fixed and carefully taking cared so she won’t have to go through dental surgery again.

We love this office so much!! My two year old fell and hit his tooth and ended up having to have it removed. We found Dr. Zina and her team and they were able to see us right away. My son had the best experience possible and we now see them for his regular checkups! We’re so happy to have found them :) if you’re looking to find a dentist for your little ones, look no further!!!

I took my child to see Dr. Zina. We had only been there a moment when we went to lay him down he got scared & started screaming. I politely asked her if it was okay to take a momentary break for him to calm because he really never cry’s to that extent. She immediately was so patronizing & said she has other patients to see.. I breastfed him & she commented that I need to breastfeed less often (which in my option isn’t dental advice it is parenting advice.) Followed by saying “I have three kids, how do you never let him cry?” I explained that this was his first dentist appointment & that I wanted it not to be a traumatic experience so he can have a positive association & she just told me he won’t remember (as if not comforting a baby is okay & won’t damage them because they won’t remember.) She asked me if I had a partner at home!? which I couldn’t believe.. Proceeded to ask me how he handles immunizations if I don’t let him cry? It was so strange to me how prying & judgmental in tone she was being for no apparent reason. I have a husband & my son has had his immunizations but that is literally none of her business & is so unprofessional to ask. She didn’t say the appointment was over, just turned around for 5 minutes & when I asked her if she was finished she would not look at me or say goodbye to my child. Just dismissed me saying the receptionist would take my payment. She didn’t forget to mention her blog though at some point in there! Just nuts. She didn’t once look at my son playfully, patiently, or compassionately. I’m honestly so shocked by the entire experience & so disheartened by her terrible attitude, especially as someone who works with children on a regular basis… Could not recommend her less.

Always so kind and patient with all three of my kids. One child has diverse needs and I am always impressed with how great they are with them.

What a beautiful and cute clinic! Loved every part of our experience there - from the friendly staff to the "Narwhal of Fame" our baby girl had a wonderful first visit to the Dentist. Dr. Zina was also so amazing. She made the experience so calm and fun for both myself, as a first time nervous parent, and my baby who is now looking forward to her next visit in 6 months!

I wish this place was around when I was I kid! What a terrific Experience from the moment we arrived at the appointment until we left. What kid wouldn't be happy with a lolly ( sugar free of course), iPad, tv, a popsicle and a coin to pick a prize at the end! They make the experience so enjoyable my 7 year old asked when are we going back? The staff is so sweet and caring and Dr. Zina is AMAZING. Any child who is under the care at LOLO is lucky.

I am sorry to say that I did not have a good experience with my 6 year old son at Lolo Pediatric Dentistry in North Van and would absolutely not recommend it to any family. When you enter the office you get excited because it looks modern and clean and is decorated in a fun and beautiful fashion so children feel welcome…however!!! After doing X-rays we were given a treatment plan which stated that my son had 8 teeth that needed fillings and two of them needed crowns each at a cost of $500+ The entire treatment of the 8 teeth was going to cost us $4,200 and the dentist wanted to do the work at a hospital with full anesthesia. Imagine a 6 year old having to go through this kind of a treatment, putting costly crowns for a bunch of baby teeth he is going to loose soon! We were shocked when we looked at the treatment plans as our son saw a dentist just a few months prior and there were zero cavities so we decided to get a second opinion and sent all the X-rays and treatment plan to two dentist that we used before. Both of them were also shocked when they say the suggested treatments. They told us that there is really only one tooth that may need a simple filling. Both dentists said that Lolo was a “rip off” and recommended we find a new dental office. In addition, I felt that the dentist was crossing a personal boundary with some of her comments about my parenting and therefore I would agree with the other parents that have posted comments about a similar experience.
