About Leis Law
Robert’s trial practice covers a broad range of litigation including personal injury, commercial disputes, employment and labour law, collection matters and acting for sexual assault complainants. He regularly represents both plaintiffs and defendants in Provincial Court, Queen’s Bench, private arbitration and before various administrative tribunals, including the Human Rights Tribunal of Alberta. Robert also has successful experience prosecuting claims on appeal.
His roster of clients includes individuals with serious bodily injury. He also acts for private and public corporations across a wide range of sectors including accounting, construction, manufacturing and insurance. Referring lawyers regularly entrust Robert with their clients’ litigation needs.
On top of his trial litigation practice, Robert handles at least 130 indictable criminal prosecution matters each year, acting as Standing Agent for the Department of Public Prosecutions. In this role, Robert has conducted numerous drug trafficking prosecutions, including multi-day prosecutions and a multi-day jury prosecution.
Prior to his role as a Standing Agent, Robert successfully represented individuals charged with criminal offences, obtaining numerous acquittals at trial on the basis of violations of the Charter.
