The entire team at leader were a pleasure to work with. From bouncing ideas to project completion, the entire process was seamless. I had the floors, trim and casings replaced and my entire house looks brand new! They even went the extra mile and painted new floor furnace grates to match our new flooring. I would work again with this crew in a flash!

We used Chris and Leader Services & Renovations as the lead builders for the renovation of our home in Canmore in 2020. It was a fairly significant ‘back to studs’ job, installing a new kitchen, laundry, 4 bathrooms, a mono-truss stair, new fireplace, sauna, replacement internal doors, cabinetry, replacement roof shingles, garage doors, plant room equipment and deck coatings. Leader coordinated multiple trade subcontractors, and self-performed the project management and carpentry. Usually, we were living and working in Europe during the Reno, so we had to substantially trust Leader to spend our money as if it was their own. We were unable to visit the property due to COVID travel restrictions throughout the Reno. After we had agreed the scope of the project, we proceeded on a largely reimbursable basis and the job came in bang on budget (consuming a small 5% contingency thought the build) and was 95%+ complete on the due date. Given the COVID restrictions and disruption to the materials supply chain, Leader’s schedule performance was very much appreciated too. We were delighted with the overall quality of the Reno, and really felt that the guys at Leader went above and beyond to put care and craftsmanship into our home. The quality of their work is superb! For example, they looked for just the right piece of wood to form benches, and constantly identified additional potential tweaks or improvements to discuss with us. Critical to the success of the project, was agreeing and locking in a defined scope, including detailed CAD drawings and a schedule of materials. This was a little bit iterative in order to tune to scope to the price we were willing to pay. Our solution here, was to work with North Nik and its proprietor Shannon Feindel. Shannon’s creative vision, framed around our style preferences and property use intentions, has transformed our home post-Reno. Her attention to detail in producing the drawings and the schedule materials was impressive, and her sourcing knowledge that helped us get quality alternative material choices where budgets were strained was much appreciated. Like all Reno’s, as owners we did need to keep very focused on freezing the scope as the job progressed, and be prepared to say ‘no’ to additional discretionary ‘nice to haves’ that naturally pop up. Chris, his Project Manager Miko and team were always easy to access for discussions, for us via Zoom, kept us informed and updated about absolutely everything, every snag, every choice, and were highly professional, easy and friendly to work with. They also paid excellent attention to health and safety matters through the job. They kept as tidy a worksite as I have ever seen from the photos, managed dust as a focus area, and were respectful of neighbours in keeping them informed and noise management. We felt our job was in safe hands and would thoroughly recommend Chris, Miko and Leader if you are looking for top Quality, a trusted Contractor, and a very positive Reno experience.

We were introduced to Chris Beecroft and Leader Service & Renovation the day we took possession of our new home. Chris helped us through every detail of our renovation from start to finish. His entire team were wonderful to work with and we literally turned our home over to them. We had never hired a contractor before and although there were times we were overwhelmed with the decisions to be made the Leader Service & Renovations team always supported our decisions and offered many options through their expertise that brought our home to a place that makes us very proud every single day. My husband and I used Leader Service after a terrible experience with a company from Airdrie. Chris Beecroft and his team were beyond wonderful. Our renovation was quite extensive as a garage wall had to be demolished and the garage extended sideways. This involved some tricky excavation of the side wall in the garage, a new beam placement, deck removal and replacement, new floor pad, new side door and a wine room installation. The team not only got on with the job but kept the site tidy every day, they reused materials to keep the cost within budget. They were a real pleasure to work with. Aaron, Sam, Fred, Tooko, Rees - so great. They always kept us informed as to progress and what was happening. In the end the deck had to be taken all down and rebuilt as some main beams were rotten, yet the cost did not rocket out. Even though lumber costs went sky high due to the pandemic, Chris and the team worked hard to reuse materials where they could and were careful to find ways to keep costs down for us. Chris also resolved a problem with the permits which saved us endless trouble and costs. Chris went out of his way to make this the best job and we are thrilled we ended up using he and his team. We cannot say enough good things about Leader Service and Renovations. We highly recommend Chris and his team.
