Genuine and Helpful. I have been coming to the studio 5 times per week since Lava opened because I value the ownership, the instructors, and the facility. Lava has exceeded my expectations. I found that people here are down to earth, and the instructors encourage this same attitude in their patrons. I find the classes are helping me sink into deeper levels of healing in my physical, emotional, and energetic 'bodies'. Each class is well structured with common threads that link movements together, amd also provides enough variety for the avid attender to always feel like they are growing in their practice. I am also very thankful for a number of simple and kind gestures made by the staff. These have made me see that Lava brings MORE than just a business to downtown Oshawa, but also a the vibration of joy. I feel content, nourished, and safe here.

Great brand new space right in the heart of downtown Oshawa! Once you enter, the outside sounds are dull at most. Beautifully remodeled after having been a bank space for so long. Only yoga studio I’ve been to on ground level ... unique and accessible ... no stairs to navigate! Energy in the space is very inviting, warm and clean. Staff are very friendly. The salad & smoothie bar is going to be a great feature once opened. Nice variety of classes available on the schedule. Plenty of parking.

I have been a member at lava for three years now. This is a family and a place where you can can grow as a person and as yogi. All the instructors are amazing. Shoutout to power instructor Ian who promotes us to feel calm even when times get tough. This business is owned by the fabulous Taba who got me hooked on yoga in the first five minutes of my first class. Thank-you!

LAVA YOGA is a gem in downtown Oshawa. It’s an vibrant yoga studio offering a variety of yoga styles (Vinyasa, Power, restorative, Yin, Ashtanga half primary series etc.), in a well-designed space with infrared heating and mirrors at the front. The staff take excellent care to welcome all students regardless of their level of experience. this well-stocked (with props) studio includes comfy lounge chairs, clean bathrooms with showers, filtered water on tap, fresh salads and sugar free smoothies. The teachers are flexible during class allowing students to practice at their own pace/level, giving adjustments, and using essential oil infused facecloths at the end. As an Indian-trained, international yoga teacher, who’s practiced in seven countries, I felt right at home in this quaint studio as soon as I walked in. Whether you’re new to yoga or experienced, this studio offers a place to clear the mind and build your mind-body-breath connection. For students new to yoga, I’d recommend attending several different styles of yoga and different teaches to find who you most align with before deciding if you like a style/teacher. See you on the mat!

WARNIG!!!! Teachers were great but the owner of this business is not who she says she is. Very unprofessional and not a yogi at all! She cares very little about her customers and even less about her employees. Giant ego would never recommend this place to anyone. Terrible experience.

Love the atmosphere and customer service. Lava team is welcoming, accommodating, flexible ( lol), very knowledgeable. Have tried several classes and look forward to every class. Wish I could do them all. Every instructor I have experienced (4 so far) is 5 star.

Everyone at the studio was kind and inviting, but there were a few things I wish I knew before I attended. The biggest thing is that I didn't find the yoga classes trauma-informed. There was loud music playing during the sessions, which makes sense in the fitness centred yoga classes, but I found it playing during classes intended to be relaxing. I found that I couldn't focus on the practice because of the distraction of the sound, which made it not worthwhile for me. I also wish there was some idea of how parking would work mentioned on the website because there are certain times that you have to pay for parking. I could have called and asked, but I assumed that there would be free parking, but it's not free during certain hours as it's downtown Oshawa. Anyhow, I say if you are okay with loud pop/country/hip hop music playing during your practice, go for it. If not, maybe seek out another studio.

Was new in town and found out about this spot. The best yoga studio I’ve been to. Very well trained, knowledgeable, welcoming and enthusiastic staff make the experience at Lava Yoga all the more worth it. The sessions/ classes are booked through the Mindbody app where the timings, instructors and type of session can be found. They range in difficulty, with Power classes, breathe and flow and the deep slow class. All of them present their own challenges but each session leaves you feeling refreshed, light and energized. 110% recommend.
