When Finding Stray Animals:
For stray animals found within the City of Cold Lake, please contact local Bylaw Officers for assistance. The Lakeland Humane Society does not provide animal control and can not pick up animals.
* – For stray animals found outside of city limits, please contact the appropriate local animal control authorities before taking any animal. Stray animals found outside of the City of Cold Lake (such as in the M.D. of Bonnyville) require special approval for admission, and may not be admissible at the LHS.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Clean shelter, helpful staff, the animals receive great care during their stay. If I ever needed to adopt an animal again I would gladly go to the Lakeland Humane Society. I have adopted 5 cats from the LHS & will adopt more :)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Clean, well maintained shelter staffed by caring, friendly people. The animals always appear to be healthy and well looked after. It never seems over-crowded even when at maximum capacity. It is very easy to access the animals and even volunteer to take the dogs for a short walk. Fostering is also an option to help determine suitability.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is a great organization with a clean space and amazing skills at taking care of the animals. I’ve volunteered here a bit and the cats and dogs are so cute! I really loved the play area with the cats.
It isn’t just about playing with the animals, though. The humane society collects food donations and does countless fundraisers all for the sake of the animals! Did I mention they’re non-profit?
I really recommend donating to these wonderful animals or considering adopting one.

When I fostered all necessities were provided and the adoption process was stress free and smooth. I also have been to the lake land humane society's feed store to buy rabbit food and it was also a very friendly and welcoming environment.
