I have an old Chevy Cavalier, a real A to B car; A cheap car to move things a short distance for work. The Upper Rad hose from the coolant tank got a leak in it. I even found it myself, and would have replaced it, but had no time at all. Called Laird Automotive at 9:00 AM who previously had been very effective and friendly. They told us to bring the car to them, and that it would be an easy fix, as most upper rad hose changes are, usually an hours labour plus parts cost. I bring it in at 11:00 AM, but the man at the desk is quite angered that I would bring this "old car" to him. He demands a 250$ - 300$ price, stating that he has to diagnose, buy a hose, add his labour fee, and that he is required to pressurize the radiator. I disagree on this, as all I want is the Upper rad hose replaced, nothing else, but have to run, and so ask him to call me with options after his diagnosis. I receive a call back from them at 5:00 PM. They had just opened the car, but refused to work on it. Stated they "smelt" fuel. They said that the fuel lines were sweating, and the back bumper had rust on it, he did not feel safe working on the car. Fine by me, so we moved the car out of their lot after the weekend, went to another mechanic. The other mechanic: Half an hour labour to replace with a brand new hose , no need to pressurize the lines, car works perfectly fine now that coolant is not leaking out of an obviously leaking upper rad hose. Total cost: $80 bucks. Beware what they say: Price was ridiculous, trying to make us pay for additional things not asked for. Made us drive the car to them after a phone call, then refused service when we had brought it, for a reason of sweating fuel lines, or other doom and gloom about faulty back bumpers, which I can't confirm if it is true or not, the car is really old. All sounds fishy to me, especially when it was exceedingly simple and cost effective at a more efficient and trustworthy mechanic; and that the car runs just fine now. Maybe only bring newer cars here?

This shop is honest, reliable and exceptional with customer service. That is not easy to find. I've given them carte blanche to do some large repairs only to come back finding it was only an adjustment needed. One time, when Sean realized a wheel cover had gone missing AFTER I'd picked up the car, he replaced if free of charge - since "we should have made sure it was back on properly". That's service and that's integrity. Very rare. Ed

I have been dealing with Sean (At Laird Automotive) for over 20 years. I have had several used cars serviced with them an I always find them to honest while ensuring my cars were safe. They are not the cheapest service and they are not the most expensive. They have always provided the best value of any mechanic I have dealt with or have heard about through friends and family. Highly recommend their services to anyone in need of a good maintenance program for the car.

Sean, and the group of service techs are an amazing group. Over the years I've learned to trust him and take what he says at face value. You can't get any more reliable, good quality service anywhere! Hands down the best service center I've used. Highly recommended!

This business is honest, and the mechanics there are straightforward. Have been 3 times and charged only once. Real straight shooters, would reccomend to anyone. The opposite of the negative sterotype out there. Great job, guys. Thank-you
