Update: 3 to 5 stars This location has really improved since my last visit about a year ago. Their new menu is a little more refined with exciting new dishes. Quality control was top notch and service was fast, friendly, and efficient. Everything was really fresh, delicious and cooked to perfection! The Hamachi was top grade, with other standouts being the carbonara udon, the duck, and takoyaki.

Came here twice in one week because of the good food, good vibes, and late night opening hours. Definitely recommend: The carbonara udon. It's finally it has made a return to the Kinka menu, as a permanent item this time! The pork tonkatsu curry. It even has meat bits in the curry sauce!

I went here last week, and I had a very nice experience at this restaurant. The waiters were very nice, and it had a nice ambiance. The food tasted really yummy, not too salty either. I ordered the eel bimbimap and miso soup with some veggies, and they all tasted delicious. I have been here multiple times and this place does not disappoint!! Quite affordable and a convenient downtown location. Not too busy either! Check them out!

Gonna make this quick - really good food, loved the bento box. Wayyyy too loud. There was literally 5 back to back birthday/anniversary/something or other where they do the yelling song and dance thing. One or 2 is fine, but 5 in an evening just sucked - had to pause conversation for minutes at a time because of it. Not great for dates or 2-person parties I guess ??‍♂️ Also - we ordered the 3 course menu and the servers were 1) inattentive (busy I guess) but also 2) impossible to flag down because they’re always looking down at their iPads.

The food here is absolutely delicious! Decent portion sizes, too. The atmosphere here is a bit more subdued than the one I went to s few years ago on Church where the staff was super lively and loud. However, at the Harbourfront location, you can actually have a conversation with your group. Delicious food and drinks- will definitely be back to try more things on the menu!

Could give 5 stars, but they completely forgot one of the dishes we ordered. We were 3 people and ended up sharing our plates. Other than that, the service was great, the ambient is stylish and the food was tasty! Very friendly staff and good promotions on food and pitchers.

3/5 Izakayas generally have smaller portions so keep that in mind. Got the Beef Curry Cheese Bibimbap, that was delicious and the Octopus carpacio which tasted very good as well. Their Calpico mixed drink was sweet and tasty. The Oyster topped with cheese was just alright and expensive for the price but a good portion. My friends got the different dried Udons, Katsudon Curry and other versions of curry. Tbh most of what they ate could be easily made at home with the right ingredients from Chinatown or an Asian grocery store. I wouldnt pay the price for most of the other mains other than the hot stone Bibimbaps and ofc the seared Sushis for the mains. Service was friendly and we celebrated someone's birthday so got the 7 Sisters shot option which came with 7 shots with different flavours. Had to ask for clarification which shot was which flavour when they were handed out which wasn't the best in organization. Overall probably wouldn't visit again tbh. Highlight was Beef Curry Cheese Bibimbap and Octopus Carpacio.

Came here for dinner and this place was pretty busy! Side note: their chairs have no backs - like many Japanese restaurants (so don’t wear big jackets that you can stuff on top of your lap) and from what I could see there were no coat racks Menu is pretty simple but still had a lot of variety. Dishes were very tasteful and they gave good portions. I would normally give this 4 stars just because it is a bit pricey for my liking (but this is also downtown), but the extra star is for the chef who also happened to be our sake bomb expert. You can tell he really enjoys his job and gets into it. DON’T order the matcha cheesecake. It was the only thing I didn’t like. Tasted like a normal cheesecake. Didn’t get any matcha flavouring at all.
