Master Kim has amplified our son's discipline, respect, determination and confidence throughout his time in TKD. Master Kim has adapted his studio and practice very well for COVID and his (lockdown) online sessions are very interactive which is great. TKD has been a great experience so far for our family because of Master Kim.

We love how he takes care of every student, gets them to focus, entertains the class with his humor, patiently watches the children demonstrate the moves...be it online or in person. Before taking up taekwondo, my son was very shy, quiet and weak...he used to get beaten up by other children. My daughters achieved their third degree black belts, and I achieved my first degree black belt at the age of 52! Master Kim is so very gifted in his knowledge and teaching. He is an inspiration to all levels of students and will make your taekwondo journey so very, very rewarding. He can command the attention of an entire class, yet still make sure you are getting individual attention in your martial arts technique. I don't know how he does it, but he does. He has a very special way of connecting with and inspiring children and being very authentic with adults. Windermere Edmonton is lucky to have Master Kim.

Our children learn so much here from discipline, values, respect and Taekwondo. Pearl is so helpful and prompt with responses to our questions. While this gave our daughter a sense of accomplishment, she was not always ready for the promotion with her skill set. When we joined Master Kim's he let her keep her current belt color but he put her curriculum two belts below to match her current skill set. It took our daughter 4 months to gain a belt promotion, but she felt so proud of herself when it happened and confident that she knew what she was doing. I appreciate Master Kim's approach with senior and junior belts and his tape system because it keeps the students engaged and feeling like they are still earning rewards, while ensuring that the students know the curriculum before gaining a promotion. If your child is motivated, they can likely go through the curriculum faster than my daughter did, but the pacing matched my daughter's growth. The two instructors that worked with Master Kim were both great as well. Everyone is very encouraging through each class.
