We stayed here for the Labour day weekend during a motorcycle trip and it was such a great experience. Chris and her family were super friendly and made us feel like family. We stayed in one of the teepees and everything was very clean. The kitchen is stocked with everything you need for preparing your meals. Definitely a place we would stay again. It was my first time there but my partner’s 3rd. I know now why this is a choice of accommodations for him.

Cute spot, but very run down and $50 per person for a one hour ride is quite expensive. Their food is good.

We went here on a whim in the summer of 2018 and it definitely over-delivered on our expectations! Doug and his crew were fantastic. My partner and I know nothing about horses - only that our son loves animals so we wanted to entertain the idea of his first horseback ride while on vacation. So we drove over to Kicking Mule Ranch to see if our timid 3.5 year old would have the courage to get on a horse (spoiler alert: it was a Pony). We were very impressed with how Doug interacted with our son in order to bring him out of his shell and focus his excitement on the experience of being on a horse. The smile on his face for the whole half hour ride was priceless. At the end of the ride, Doug spent time with our son to perform a few exercises on the pony, which boosted our sons confidence even more. Thanks so much, Doug, for being a great teacher and motivator during a passing moment (but a life time experience to him!) in our son's life. After this experience our son became fearless in trying new things. We will visit Kicking Mule Ranch every time we visit Manitoulin!

A group of us arrived on motorcycles on a Friday afternoon, and from that point on, until we left on the Sunday morning, we treated basically like family. We loved this place so much that we are considering making this an annual trip. Perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of city/suburbia. Chris, and her dad were fantastic hosts. Our tee-pee was very spacious and had 2 double beds in it. This was during Covid so we had the whole camp ground to ourselves. The accommodations, the self serve kitchen, and the washrooms were in excellent condition. They are doing everything in their power to make this place even better than it was. TIP...First person to shower in the morning gets an extra minute of water to add to your 3 minutes! They are off-grid, so you cannot have an aquatic ceremony of a shower :)

The cabins and teepees are very cute. The outdoor kitchen had everything you would need to cook a meal. However I found the campground way too crowded. There was barely any room between buildings. It definitely takes away from the wilderness experience.

Convenient location. Server was nice. Burger and bacon was overcooked. Mushroom caps were decent. Ketchup, mustard, relish on the burger are a dollar extra each. Burger patties are small so would advise doing the double patty.

What a fantastic afternoon at Kicking Mule! We had a beautiful hour trail ride with Doug and his well behaved horses. Three generations of our family were entertained and enthusiastically enjoyed our first horse back ride ever! Thanks for making it safe and fun! See you next summer!

This was our first time ever going on a horse ride, family of four! Doug was amazing who gave us instruction on how to steer, stop and ride ahead. Doug was also accompanied by Andrew, who is a pro in handling horses at this young age. Andrew was a pleasure to be around !! We had lovely bunch of horses, Dancer, Floyd, Benjamin and Nooby. 'Nooby' was my horse and was very obedient. I was very nervous and in two- minds for the first few minutes of the ride. But Nooby was the best, comforting and knew exactly how to obey my cues without me saying a word!! He's my favorite buddy? Dancer, is the best for young riders. She walks and follows at a good pace. My daughter had a great ride. Floyd and Benjamin were awesome too and were best for adults, especially for males ? The 1 hour trail walk was very pleasant and serene!! We had the best weather and the best team on our side!! Definitely, we'd would recommend this place to everyone and a MUST VISIT place ? ? Not to forget...the little watch guards...Sadie(Australian Sheppard) and Lilly (English bulldog)?? THANKS SO MUCH, FOR THE BEAUTIFUL RIDES!!! WE'LL BE BACK ONCE AGAIN !!
