Kaytoo Restaurant & Bar

Fair warning: avoid this place at all costs, because they cheat and treat customers with utmost disrespect. After having dinner in the village, we wanted to go to a place for a couple of drinks, and Kaytoo was the only place open. Outside, we saw a board which advertised $5 Jack Daniels (photo attached) and we were lured into the bar. After 2 rounds of drinks, we asked for the cheque, and the bill was a whopping $73.96 (we were charge $11 per drink), we requested our server to see the manager. He came in, with tons of attitude and started talking extremely rudely and condescending with us. He said things like are you going to tell me how to run a business, lots of people come here everyday, you don’t know anything etc…When we pointed out that it is advertised that the Jack Daniel is $5 outside, he said the offer is valid only till 10 pm. We felt a little cheated and but paid the bill regardless. When we left the bar, and saw the board again it said $5 Jack Daniels, till 12 pm on Fridays. We called back the manager to show him how the sign didn’t make any sense. He lied again, saying that the offer is valid UNTIL 12 PM on Fridays. When we checked google, the bar opens at 12 pm…so…I really don’t know how they are running their business. We just left…I mean never have we ever been treated so disrespectfully at a bar, and cheated out of our money. We were always polite with the manager, and he was literally screaming at us - my dad was accompanying us, and even he was shocked at how we were treated. Please please avoid this place if you can!

This place sits within blue mountain village and has amazing food and service. The signature drink Maple Bacon Caesar was delicious.

My family and I went to this restaurant and we thoroughly the food and the place is also good. Food was very flavourful and great. Portion sizes were good too. Staff were friendly and the service was great. Highly recommend this place with five stars.

We were in the area for a staycation, after a trip to the Scandinave Spa. A lot of restaurants in the area close early and when we got out around 8, we were looking for something that was still open. We decided to venture to Blue Mountain Village, since Kaytoo was an option that opened later (I think it becomes some sort of club after a certain time). We had gotten seated, still before the late night menu was implemented so let me tell you what's up. We both ordered drinks to start, for $14 each as pictured. Was taken back by how empty the keto drink was. The Caesar was fine, but I didn't see any difference between this maple bacon Caesar and any other regular Caesar. To start, we had the mozzarella sticks and French onion soup. The soup was fine, but the mozzarella sticks for $13, I expected them to be less frozen from a box type. My friend had the "jerk chicken", based off of a review that it was to die for but keeping in mind this place probably wouldn't be authentic jerk. It came with a pineapple mango slaw, which was nice. But in terms of it being jerk chicken, it was more like slightly seasoned chicken. Very disappointing, especially for $28 in which you get maybe 4oz of chicken and not much flavour. Overall, it was pretty bland and probably shouldn't be advertised as jerk chicken. We agreed, probably also our mistake for having expectations for the jerk chicken here. I had the charcuterie board for another $28. Upon looking, it's cute. Right? Until I realized they literally just took sliced cheddar and swiss and added that to the board. Now, there aren't many ways to mess up a charcuterie board but for this price, there's a higher expectation than packaged slice cheese. They are pretty generous with everything else, but I think the cheese is a pretty important aspect of a charcuterie board. The service was good, the hostess was so nice and our server was amazing. As somebody who frequently dines out in Toronto, these prices weren't anything to cringe it but the quality of the food was. Unfortunately, we left the place feeling robbed and it was a poor ending to an otherwise lovely trip.

Good food, amazing hosts. Lil bit pricey on the beers overall good experience. Watch out for seagulls when your spending time on the waterfront patio.

Kaytoo is my go to whenever I’m in town! The people are amazing and the food always makes me happy food dance. Jeff was my server this weekend and he was so considerate and attentive. He gave such good suggestions and I will request him as a server again!

My boyfriend and I thoroughly enjoyed the food, patio and atmosphere in general. Incredibly friendly service and wonderful food! I had The Strip which is a 10 oz Alberta steak…never knew Alberta can top New York in steak! Thank you, I loved it! Mashed potatoes were done perfectly (nice and creamy) and the veggies were done just right. My boyfriend had the Jerk Chicken and he loved it! He gave me a taste and it was most absolutely an accurate Caribbean taste…felt like a party in my mouth. If you’re thinking of coming here, do it! Was really beautiful.

Avoid! I’ve been here plenty of times over the years and these past two times… it’s gone downhill fast. CONS - Waited over an hour for our food. The service was OK, the servers seemed generally annoyed and unorganized. We also got the wrong dessert brought to our table after waiting ages for a piece of cake. PROS - we were seated right away, the food was OK. The server did correct the wrong dessert.
