My past Filipino food experiences have mainly involved Jollibee and BBQ pork skewers from small establishments. My first visit to Kapit Bahay was met with disappointment as they were almost completely sold out of food within 1 hour of closing. I returned around lunchtime (another weekend) and was not disappointed. I ordered the following...kinilaw, sinigang, bicol express, bbq pork skewer, filipino style spaghetti, turon, and hopia. None of the items were labelled so be prepared to ask lots of questions! The food was fresh, tasty, and reasonably priced. The restaurant was clean and the staff were friendly. I used to go to Marcy Fine Foods over at Sheppard and Victoria Park for all my filipino food cravings...but I think I've found a closer option in Kapit Bahay. I'll definitely be back to try their other offerings.
