Beautiful view, love the walk down here, is typically pretty populated during the day with a pretty high number of intoxicated people hanging out

Nice view, but with lots of garbage on the floor.

Lovely, peaceful and calm place. Nature and wildlife in the city.

What a shame to have this spot listed as a tourist destination. The area around Syndicate Ave. is depressing to say the least! The vehicle underpass looks sketchy at best and downright dangerous at worst with all of it's crumbling concrete and chunks of it on the road itself. You are then greeted by a reasonably nice shoreline boardwalk which berths a decrepit old tug. While it is a historically significant vessel it's a shame to see it in it's present condition. Nothing to be proud of, not to mention the train. I walked towards the end of the board walk to view the metal sculpture only be in the midst of apparent drug users send others who frequent the spot. Once at the sculpture , I took a walk around it reading the inscriptions and low and behold a nice hypodermic needle stuffed between the rocks surrounding the art piece. Then finally, the wooden bench with missing boards and the ones remaining, you probably wouldn't want to sit on. So why have such an eyesore listed as a tourist attraction? What waste of money and a blight, rather than boon for Thunder Bay.

It's in a very sketchy area of town, I'd stay away for your safety.

Great place to stop n have a coffee or lunch n watch rowers and boats make their way up and down the river. You can check out the Old Via Train, the James Whalen Ice Breaker/Tug and the amazing Metallic Aboriginal Wing Sculpture. As others have stated, theres often undesirables in the vicinity but whatever. It's still a nice little spot to just clear your mind.

Could be a beautiful place. City needs to get it cleaned up have police presence there to stop the people from throwing needles/alcohol bottles and garbage around. If you could take your kids here for a walk without them seeing disgusting acts taking place would be a beautiful spot. Unfortunately the city has turned a blind eye.
