A very small but interesting Provincial Park. I went fishing during the salmon run, I saw many many fish jumping. Very wide beach, so you won't have to worry about being too close to other fishemen. Lots of trout. Not much sand for sunbathing. Check the park hours, the gate is not open 24/7. The potable water has some chlorine taste. They have a tenting area that is separate from the RV area. The cars and dogs are not allowed on the beach, the Park Patrol officer will nicely warn people about the park rules. Lots of wild plants including small cactus. Very hot place during summer. Included images were taken using a cellphone camera.

On the plus side this park is close to Hwy 1 and easy to find. It is located on the Thompson River with small sandy beach on a backwater for safe wading and splashing. The park is old but clean with well maintained. All sites offer power hookups. The sites are level with picnic tables and fire pits. On the negative side there are ticks and snakes in the area. The campsites offer no privacy and little shade and some are rather small. Roads and sites are gravel with limited grass. There are active train tracks on both sides of the campground with frequent trains both day and night. You must pay for hot water in the showers. No cell coverage at sites. Limited coverage near exit.

Lady attendant was not knowledgeable regarding BC Parks policy in relation to PWD and camping. Was unprofessional and extremely rude. With persons with disability, You're entitled to free camping with a free extra vehicle. I referred her to the BC Parks policy, she got offended that I was stating policy. (Childish) Then she went on to say: I'm not talking to you, one more word and you'd have to leave. Then going on to say "I'm going to look it up and my decision will be final. I was correct in the end, No apology was given. 2. (Quiet Time) Our neighbors were having a party and were talking loudly outside until 3 AM. We didn't dare say a word, do to threat we would have to leave. We left first thing in the morning. 3. This attended takes you're rights away to stand up for yourself regarding BC Parks policy.

Absolutely beautiful spot along the river, and the park caretakers were very friendly. Campsites are very close together, however, with not much privacy between many of the sites. There are two train tracks in the vicinity and they are frequently used by big freight trains, so it's not always a peaceful spot! They woke me up a couple of times through the night. It was fun to watch the trains at times though!

Outstanding beauty. Very helpful, friendly Park hosts. Right by the River. Unending views. Great sites. Power and water. And, a sanity dump. If you don't like trains though, you might not enjoy it. Otherwise, we LOVE it!

Nice riverside spots here. Rugged countryside and lots of trains going by on both sides of the campground. Quite a bit of tree cover is welcome as it can get blistering hot here in the summer.

Lots of people mention trains in their reviews, yes, there are trains! But there are also eagles and the beautiful Thompson River to enjoy. So bring ear plugs and you’ll be fine. This is a well cared for campground with 21 river front spots and more set back from the river. When the river is open, the evening fish comes on once the sun is off the water…a floating line and a Tom Thumb should be all that you need to have some fun. There is no cell coverage by the river, but decent coverage in the day use parking lot. Most sites have both water and power hook-ups, plenty of room to maneuver trailers.
