Great place...lots of crossovers and little cars made it up ( Expect rock damage/dents...scapes to your underside ( lowriders)..and whacks to your aluminum wheels...otherwise clean up after yourselves ( though most people do)...I would use a 4x4 on days that are not hot and dry...getting up the hills could be a problem.. Peace

Beautiful location, road is rough and really should be attempted in a 4x4 only. Some big sites and Some are packed close to each other. Get there early to get a good spot.

We had the time of our lives. This is a BC Hydro recreation area with 2 day use areas and 3 camp sites. All camping is first come, first serve. No power or bathrooms but does have a few outhouses. Lake is great for kyacking and paddle boarding, although It can get quite windy in the afternoons. This place is 9km up an active logging road, if you encounter a truck, you will have to get out of their way. The road up is very bumpy, dusty, and quite steep in spots, take it slow.

This campsite is maintained by BC Hydro so it's free! Take exit 153 from Hwy 1. It is then 9 kms up the FSR. I would suggest an SUV or Truck is your best bet. The sites are large and we were able to get two huge tents on one site. There are three banks of sites. Most sites are very close to the lake. They have picnic tables, fire pits and clean outhouses as well. The lake is very shallow but not too cold in July/August which is nice. There is some trout in the lake but it seems some of the fish aren't surviving so they have a revitalization project to help restock and bring up the numbers. The views are beautiful!

This place is awesome. Absolutely beautiful. The campsites are great. They have picnic tables. Fire pits. And outhouses. I do believe it is owned by BC Hydro. And it is free camping. At least when I went it was. All that they ask is you don't stay for more than 14 days in the year. You clean up your garbage. And not be loud at night. A 4x4 is strongly recommended. As your traveling 10 km up the side of a mountain on a logging type road. You could get up there with a car. But if you're not careful you can destroy your car. The road gets pretty rough.

Great drive up the mount. It’s almost 11km up, best to have a 4x4 in winter, there is good camping site too.
