Jessica Fern Facette - Edmonton

A wedding is an interesting thing. It's day that encapsulates a couple's dreams, emotions and personality. Many people have mentioned to me that I should try to cherish the day as it is over in a blink of an eye. I knew the photographer would have to capture the fleeting moments that I would not be able to notice or remember and we made it a priority to concentrate as much as we could securing a photographer that truly understands us and can make us feel comfortable. After narrowing our candidates down to three, we selected Jessica quite quickly after our initial meeting with her. I was initially scared and hesitant with these kinds of things. I'm a very logical and facts based person and it was extremely challenging for me to describe what I want artistically. So when we met Jessica, I combed through portfolios of prints and tried my best to describe what I enjoyed so much of her work but also to see if she could make us unique as well. It was her personality and energy that allowed me to relax and trust in her passion and it's cliché to say it but she really made my brain just *click. I simply knew I trusted the vision and what she represented and it could really make us shine. She wanted to know more about us, the story about us, our personalities and tendencies. The ability to channel that through her work is what ultimately made us fall in love with this process and also trust her completely for our big day(s). She made us feel like something more than just two subjects behind a lens and her ability to relate and make us feel at ease created a rapport which made it feel comfortable and candid rather than staged and artificial. We loved her creativity and ideas that she came up with and we felt it worked well as many instances for our photo-shoots (we did an engagement session and a few days of wedding sessions) were a mixture of posed and impromptu situations. She gives great direction if needed and handled hectic situations such as larger crowds of family chaotically milling about. Jessica was able to surprisingly get in and out of tight quarters to capture moments and expertly allows situations to unfold naturally which was something we loved. We couldn't tell she was there the day of but after reviewing family's home videos of the festivities, you can clearly see her leaping in and out of crowds snapping away like a high tech ninja. She knows the city quite well and part of her charm and uniqueness is her eye. She's got an amazing eye for gems in the city and a lot of her photos makes Edmonton unrecognizable. Both my wife and I often remark in amazement that these locations are in our city. Even with long days and I don't think I ever caught her without a warm grin on her face. An energy that even got my own father to crack an organic smile she caught on camera. I'VE NEVER SEEN HIM DO THAT. I wholeheartedly trusted this artist and I regret nothing. She captured a day that passed us in moments I'll be so proud to look back on with so much feeling and emotion. TL;DR: Very professional, on time, artistic, one of the best experiences of planning a wedding, in our opinion and taste the best photographer Edmonton.

Jess was our photographer for our wedding and we are so thrilled to have her. We chose her for her photo journalistic style which meant following us around and really capturing the moments, and emotions of the day. Not too much awkward posing! The photos came out stunning and we really loved her lack of over-editing! The photos are classic, without the trendy filters, and really highlight the beauty of our surroundings. We are so happy with our experience and would recommend her to anyone!

Jess has a beautiful studio with a great view of the city. Her designs and craftsmanship are outstanding in both her stocked items and custom orders. I'm very pleased with the products I purchased from her and I'd recommend her studio to anyone who would like to learn more about textiles or bring more textile goods into their home.
