D	David Lau on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ There is a structure and order in the class. The student teachers on the weekdays are attentive. Kancho is often checking out each class (kids & adults) because he takes this vocation very seriously. Most of the people that have trained there for some time will speak Japanese to him and they are not Japanese. My son has been here for a year and a half and he really enjoys it. He has been at 2 belt gradings and it's very organised. Saturdays is a treat because the Sensei Hiromi teaches it and she is quite engaging with kids of all ages.

There are few instructors like him in the country. If you are anywhere close to this facility you should drop in and join. Not only will you learn how to defend yourself and get in great physical condition but you will become a person of great integrity and confidence.

I recommend this Dojo to anyone who is thinking of training in Karate. Training with a grandmaster is different then training with a regular instructor. Grandmaster Kancho is very knowledgable with many years of experience. Grandmaster Kancho and his daughter and their team run a very professional business and I really enjoy being part of this dojo.

I got a response quickly from the dojo on training times and a welcoming note to come along. Class sizes are good with a good mix of experienced black belts and people on their karate journey. everyone was pleasant and welcoming. The training was focused and a good mix of kata, kihon and kumite. A very knowledgable, relaxed and happy sensei in Kancho. Enjoyed every minute and will return when i visit again.

We started on the Danforth location & followed them to their current location on Broadview/Mortimer. The teachers are very good with children of all ages. They are firm but respectful of each child. We make our schedules work on Saturdays just so they can learn from Sensi Hiromi. We have & will continue to recommend this dojo to our friends.

I joined when I was 16 years old (now 31) and received my black belt in 2007 from this school when it was back in the Danforth location. Ever since, Ive been an on and off student there and never regretted joining . Kancho Okuyama demands dedication, patience and resilience from his students. He is a great master and humbles you very quickly. I haven't been back for some time though unfortunately (it's been 2 years) and this I do regret. This place is the real deal.

Students from all walks of life under kancho. I've been away for a few years and regret it very much. The dojo brings out the best in me! Love being here and hope to be back soon!

I have been going for over a year and have enjoyed many learnings from Kancho and the rest of the wonderful group of people who frequent this dojo. I highly recommend. All three of my children attend as well. Note that classes are once again open!
