He clearly spent a good amount of time trying to think of the best way to communicate his thoughts to me. My index went down from around 6 to 3.1 in a matter of months. I would recommend him to anyone who wants to be a better golfer.

Initially I was hesitant to take lessons because I get nervous swinging in front of new people, but James made me feel more than comfortable. He quickly targeted small flaws in my swing and gave me drills to correct them. Within 20 swings I was hitting the ball straighter and farther. I recommend anyone who wants to improve their golf game try’s a lesson with James.

My driver increased in distance about 40-50yards, with each of my irons increasing by 35. Currently I have knocked off about 5 strokes off my handicap this year alone. When teaching, he goes through the physics behind golf, and why certain things occur in different scenarios, which was something I had little to no knowledge on. 5/5 would recommend, and will be booking more lessons in the future.

I have had countless lessons & friends try and help coach my struggles, but all caused my game to get worse. My anxiety and fear of hitting a bad shot paralyzed me and my ability to play confidently around the greens. After one lesson, James Skrypec quickly understood my mechanics and the mistakes I was making and coached me to see the shot in a positive way. We built a strong foundation and continued to work on the mechanics and my confidence when approaching my short game. After a series of lessons I now feel confident and believe I can get the ball up and down from anywhere. His vision along with his direct approach has worked wonders for my confidence and my ability. Thanks to James for setting me on a path that will support my enjoyment of golf forever. James is positive, friendly, yet still demanding on his strategies which make him an outstanding coach and professional. I would recommend James to anyone that is looking to improve their game. Using the trackman on the range allows anyone to get exact numbers and James does a fantastic job with explaining all the trackman numbers in ways that anyone will understand. James also has an amzing understanding on nutrition and tournament preparation. I encourage anyone who wants to better their golf game to book a lesson with James, he's truly an amazing teacher.

His knowledge of the golf swing and course management is outstanding. His ability to explain a concept and guide you through a particular feeling of a new movement is amazing. Initially I was a little intimidated to visit him because a google search will show you that 1) he is a top quality player himself and 2) he teaches at a fantastic golf course which I felt was well above my ability level. My concerns were very misplaced. James is very welcoming and made me feel comfortable right away and the facilities at Deer Ridge are fantastic, indoors or out. He began by analysing my swing, showing me video of my faults and explaining which were the most pressing to correct. Each subsequent lesson he analysed my 'new' swing, showed me what was causing the biggest problem I was encountering and started offering drills and feels to work on it. He is always open to hearing how I feel my swing as he knows it is going to be different from golfer to golfer. Because he is such a good player himself James is able to model drills or swings for me before letting me work on it myself. James has also always gotten back to any email I've sent him with quick questions or problems I'm noticing as I practice. I knew that this would be a process and not a quick fix and so I'm very pleased that I connected with James to coach me. He's taken me from a slicing 24 handicap to a 12 handicap (and lowering) who plays a draw. Every time I see him he moves me on a step and I feel like I can return to see him anytime for another lesson. I appreciate this a lot as I can go away, work on his teaching and return when I'm ready or hit a barrier. I would recommend James to a golfer of any level looking to improve their game.
