Jacob came recommended by our Realtor. We spent a lot of time looking for someone we trusted to do our renovations and our realtor always had good contacts. Originally we were only going to replace our carpets with hardwood and get the subfloor fixed but things happened and we kept wanting more improvements. We ending up spending $23k on improvements through Jacob and we don't regret it. When we told Jacob we what we wanted he brought us over samples of wood flooring he picked out. They didn't match the color I wanted so I gave him a piece of wood I had that was the right color and he found a good match. He provided great intel on what was cheaper and what was expensive. I wanted the expensive hardwood he found. Before the floors started Jacob suggested repeatedly that if we were to paint we should paint before the floors. We were trying to save money at the time and only wanted to get the floors fixed so we skipped the painting. We worked from home which made it a bit more complicated because we only had the bedroom, my studio room and the living room. The bedroom and living room were going to get carpets torn out so it was a challenge to move our furniture from one to the other. So as difficult as we were being Jacob was very kind and helpful to accommodate for the situation. He installed the floors so quickly out of curtesy because we were living there. Sorry Jacob!!! Everything was going according to plan until the baseboard adjustment. It was supposed to be a patch so we wouldn't have to dismantle the baseboards and move them lower to match the floor but the floor was even lower than the patch in one area. That was intended to prevent us from needing to paint. That moment is when the renovation addiction set in. Like going to a casino and never escaping, I had to get everything fixed! We removed the drop wall so it would be just a flat ceiling but curse old buildings and that hot water pipe running not leveled with anything and on the exterior walls of the building. So its a small corner now. Popcorn ceiling? Ugly bloody thing is gone too. No ceiling light in the living room?! WHAT IS WITH VANCOUVER AREA AND NO CIELING LIGHT IN LIVING ROOM!!! Ceiling light installed. Oh ya and painting? Welp... that got done too at the very end. So we went backwards. But at the start we didn't have the money or plan for everything anyway so it all worked out. Jacob made sure to protect the floor from any danger as the other workers did their job. There was one issue regarding cleaning but Jacob sorted that out with the guys he brought in and everything is good. The entire project took... a month and a half I believe? We had to delay it one week to get more money. So if you are looking for someone, who will spend 20 minutes making sure your big a** fluorescent light is installed perfectly parallel to the kitchen walls with precision measuring and grab that wet paint brush to patch up the dings in the newly fixed ceiling cause I'm a dumb*** that can't install a light, call Jacob.

I am very pleased with what was done in my house. Jacob repaired the drywall I needed to be repaired and did an excellent job matching the wall texture and blending it in. He always updated me of the progress and was great at communicating and very prompt on the day of the appointment. I highly recommend Live Edge Renovations!
