First time trying J&G chicken (香香雞) it's surprised me with the taste. They use real chicken meats. I order the popcorn chicken as it's their signature popular item on the menu. it's really favourable and juicy. It has a really rich flavour in it. Very intense. You can choose the flavour as an original, mildly spicy, medium spicy or very spicy, it all depends on your own taste Also, I order their chicken wing, tasted completely different that no other places have before. Also, it's isn't oily at all and its pretty crunchy. And not overcooked. They know what they are doing as they only have open for their 8th days from Dec 1st If I can I would give them 10 /10. For doing a great job.

When I was encouraged to try J&G Fried Chicken, my thought was, "what so great about another fried chicken place?" J&G made a tasteful statement that there is another level of deliciousness to fried chicken. Their "Signature Crispy Popcorn Chicken" was absolutely outstanding. The lightly breaded coating teases your taste buds with perfectly balanced flavours of sweetness, saltiness and spiciness. The chicken nuggets were tender and juicy. Amazing!

Our experience with J&G chicken os nothing but positive. Their Taiwanese fried chicken is no doubt the best in Vancouver. We love ordering their pop corn chicken and really enjoy their braised pork rice!

I grew up eating J&G in Taiwan and was really excited that they have finally opened in Vancouver! It is a really popular franchise in Taiwan mainly selling popcorn chicken; however, their popcorn chicken is on the expensive side comparing to a lot of Taiwanese popcorn chicken stalls that you find in the night markets or on the side of the street! But it is still very popular in Taiwan! I went and tried J&G at the Crystal Mall; I ordered the popcorn chicken ($8.5 a bag)and the staff recommended the chicken wing (2 ps for $6)and I thought to give it a try! I think their price point is average considering you are getting a bag of popcorn chicken made of boneless chicken breast, and some of the bubble tea place charges around $7 for a bubble tea! Well it’s just my 2 cents! LOL They do offer some other items that I didn’t see in Taiwan, like the heart shaped chicken cutlet, chicken knee cartilage, and yam fries! I was surprised to find that the popcorn chicken here has no bone! The popcorn chicken they serve in Taiwan has bone and sometime I had to watch out so that I don’t swallow it! The popcorn chicken here tasted pretty much like the ones in Taiwan; very flavorful! The meat is juicy but as not as juicy as they have it in Taiwan, but I guess the bone helps retaining some of the juice in the meat! I am no food critic and take in other factors into consideration such as local ingredient sourcing variance, I think the J&G at Crystal Mall is off to a good start! I have to say the chicken wing totally blew my mind! It was so juicy and the taste was just so perfect! I think I have a new favorite at J&G! Now I can’t wait to try the other items on the menu! Very friendly and helpful staff too and I would say this is probably the cleanest food stall at Crystal Mall Food Court. LOL

Came here to try the popcorn chicken as it was highly recommended by one of my buddies from Taiwan! Ended up also trying the spicy chicken bites with the salt and pepper seasoning and deep fried king oyster mushroom too. I have to say the flavor in the chicken is very unique and something you don’t really taste it somewhere else! I’m surprised that the chicken breast could be so tender and juicy and not greasy at all! The batter is not too thick so u can definitely feeling u are eating meat! J&G’s popcorn chicken is definitely very different from the ordinary popcorn chicken u can get in the lower mainland. I have to say that their staff are very friendly and helpful; not to mention they have only been opened since Dec 1. Each of the staff wears uniform and a transparent mouth guard which provide a very professional representation. Especially wearing the mouth guard show that they care about hygiene and food safe, which is something u don’t really see here! The service alone I would give 10/10! The price point is a bit on the higher end; but u get what u paid for so it’s not too bad! Now I wished I have enjoyed these fried chicken with some beer! Would definitely come back to try the other items!

Tried their popcorn chicken, I have to say it is VERY different from the popcorn chicken that they serve in restaurants – made of chicken breast and the batter they use doesn’t make the chicken too greasy. It is very flavorful too, pepper they sprinkle on top really complement the chicken. The reviews online complained about the portion being small - I counted about 11 bigger pieces of chicken and a few other smaller ones in my bag, I think for $8.50 is alright. 10 pieces McNuggets cost about $7.XX and not to mention the popcorn chicken got more flavor and it is fried when you order it. But you definitely have to eat it right on the spot; fried chicken breast gets a bit dry after it cools off – but I was surprised flavor of the chicken got stronger after it cooled off.

I personally like restaurants that cook their food fresh after its ordered to reduces overall food waste which is a daily occurrence in fast food locations. The average wait time is between 6.4 and up to 16.4 minutes when there is a lineup. I like the Taiwanese braised pork rice with a small amount of chicken (10.5$ combo) for light meal consumption but I'll recommend trying the yam fries (4-5$ w/o combo) if you haven't before. The taste is unique and vastly different from most local's soft yam fries offering; It's crispy especially if you eat them within the first 10 minutes ^__^ Ps. You can reduce the wait time and see what's still available by ordering through their App in advance. I usually try to order from this location first before going to buy Boba tea in the same mall. PsPs. There are 2 Pokemon VR Gym at this location <3 Taiwan <3 Japan <3 Good Food

Got the $15.5 combo that had popcorn chicken, yam fries and dough balls. Chicken is warm and fries are quite tasty. Portion is very small and they use chicken breast which makes it less soft. For crystal price, this is very expensive and not really worth the price. I'd give 2 stars but one extra star since the cashier was nice in suggestions.
