A competitor transmission shop in Winnipeg said I needed a transmission overhaul to fix my shifting problem, I took it to JB Transmission on St.Mary`s Rd for a second opinion and the manager said it was a bad external sensor causing all the grief .... This place saved me $2400.00. I was very impressed that the technician took me aside and showed me the bad part and gave me a brief description on how it affects my transmission operation. Two Thumbs Up!

Horrendous experience and terrible service. My mechanic recommended my sister-in-law take her van there to get the transmission fixed. What a nightmare! It took a week to fix with no loaner. When she notice it leaking oil she took it back and they said it wasn't leaking. (uh, yes it was). She took it to Fountain Tire for a second opinion and they said the transmission was leaking so she took it back and told them that and only then did they take it back for another week to "fix" it. No loaner offered again. After she gets it back a week later it starts banging as she drives it. Again she takes it back and they say nothing is wrong! Fed up she calls the original mechanic and asks him to look at it. Sure enough he says it's the transmission. He calls them on her behalf and she drops it off again. No loaner offered and another week without a vehicle. No compensation ever offered and she is not the type to ask. It was a total of 3 weeks without a vehicle and a total headache. We will never be back and will never recommend them to anyone.

Amie, the manager has a terrible customer service reputation. After posting to my friends what rude and lazy service he gave me, I was flooded with others similar experiences with the guy. I called for a quote, gave the year, make and model of my car and he then asked for my VIN. I did not have it and he then said he couldn’t help me. I asked if he could make any calls to get the info he β€œneeded”, and he refused. I googled the info for him, called him back with the number. He hung up on me. I called the dealership and confirmed the number. I called Amie back and he was rude, unapologetic and so not helpful. How lazy. I hope he loses business or takes a manners course.

We had an estimate done on our truck by JB Transmission. When we decided it was too expensive the owner/manager wanted to charge us $711 for the estimate. At no time did we authorise any amounts and when we pointed out that JB Transmission advertised free professional estimates on their own website the owner/manager denied it(?). I took the vehicle to Harry's Automatic Transmission in Balmoral, MB . and the same repair I was quoted for by JB Transmission was done for over$1000.00 less, with all of the same new parts and warranty. Further,JB Transmission did not return my torque converter (he left the transmission apart as I did not want to have him try and charge us even more me to re-assemble and re-install it (which should have been done regardless and at no charge) . Without the original torque converter, which we have no way of knowing was good or not, we had to pay for a new one (at a minimum of $100 core charge) which means we would have saved an addition minimum of $100 on the repair at Harry's Automatic Transmission. A complaint has been filed with the BBB and Manitoba Justice (Consumer Complaints) which are actively being pursued by both.

I have dealt with these folks a few times over the years with different vehicles. The staff are always straightforward and helpful to deal with. Their work is reliable and they do a lot to help their customers be satisfied with the results.

If i could go to a negative i honestly would. We had our vehicle in and the transmission replaced. It went back approx. 6 times for leaking issues right after the replacement. They say they changed a hose a seal and a pan gasket. All at different times trying to stop the leak. We were never given any parts back or any documentation as to what was done on all the follow up repairs. Every time it leaked again. We finally went to another shop and found the pan bolts were never even tightened (half out). A half day later and a couple parts and no more issues. Thanks for NOTHING JB! the owners attitude is the absolute worst! this guy should never deal with the public!! - 5 stars and a F for effort.

They are good and reliable for the work they do. I had an issue with my car and I went to three mechanic prior to them but they could diagnose it but at JB they did the work in no time and charged very reasonably. I would recommend them.

I called to try and book an appointment. Person who spoke with me wasnt too friendly. Told me to call back later to try and book an appointment... because he was "too busy" I fixed the 500 dollar problem myself. Their loss
