COLIN SPENCE

Colin Spence has 40 plus years of experience in the computer servicing industry. With a diploma from SAIT in Electronic Engineering Technology, he started his career with Sperry Univac, maintaining Mainframe installations. From here Colin moved on to work with the Credit Union Central of Alberta, where he coordinated the upgrade of their network backbone (to their remote Credit Union branches) from NCR to IBM hardware and software. Upon completion of the upgrades, Colin developed and set up a helpdesk supporting the remote branches. Later on as a shift supervisor with Petro Canada, Colin ran the 24/7 hour operation of their Mainframe systems with a staff of 12 reporting to him. Colin has served as the team lead for numerous projects including the oversight of technology requirements for a major hotel, from construction phase to grand opening.

Colin started a PC computer repair company in the early 90’s and has been working on networking solutions from Novell right up to the latest versions of Windows servers and applications. He continues to support ITIS Technology with his broad base of technical expertise.

BARRY THOMPSON

Barry Thompson has over 40 years of experience in the computer industry as well. In 1985, Barry graduated from the DeVry Institute of Technology with his computer programming degree. He immediately started contracting himself out as a database programmer. As Barry’s reputation became established in the computer industry, his customer base looked to him for support in computer hardware and network support services. Barry’s role evolved into 5 years as Western Regional Manager for a NEC distributor, and subsequently 10 years of experience opening / running two IT services branch offices for national service providers. In 2001, Barry started his own enterprise, ITIS Technology, which is now entering its’ 20th year of operation.

Barry is very adept at prioritizing and solving customer support & network support issues. With his diverse background in the computer industry, Barry is fluid in identifying customer needs and providing timely solutions for a broad spectrum of businesses. He continues as well to support ITIS Technology with his business and technical acumen in the IT industry.
