★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I got exactly what I paid for. Reasonable rate, good location, and great service. It needs updating but what do you expect for such a reasonable price? I would stay here again on the service I got from the person who helped me and even if the room needed updating it was clean. Also close to a pub belonging to the same resort that is easy enough to have some drinks and walk back (2ish minutes) to motel.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The breakfast offered by the hotel includes 4 types of cereal, bread and jam, milk and juice. It was quite upsetting to see that there are only 2 tables available where you can actually have this "big variety of choices", which are literally next to the front desk. So upsetting and not suitable for children. It's better to stay away and have breakfast somewhere else.
The kitchen has basic utensils and kitchenware for cooking. But again, you must wash them after yourself or you will be charged $25 fees. So basically your previous room occupants washes them for you. Ours still looked dirty!!! So we decided not to use them at all. BTW, the sponge was not changed and looked it was used by lots of other people. So disgusting!!!
You can also hear every word of your neighbors next door, so bring earplugs. Or better not go there at all...

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Horrible camping site (it's just an empty gravel space on the top of a hill with nearly no sea view and full of wrecks!), even those few spots on the seaside are too small and ugly (right on the street); everthing is broken and the staff is completely incompetent. Our bench was completely fallen apart and they said they would replace it, but noone ever showed up. The price tag is extremely high for this s... hole, will not certainly go back and do not recommend this place to anyone decent.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I’ve got the full hookup site, on the top of the hill which had a good view and that was it. It’s just an empty lot with nothing and not maintained at all. It’s ok for just sleeping since there is literally nothing there. Definitely not a place for kids.
Staff was nice but for the price, I wouldn’t return there.

One of our worst camping experiences, and we are full-time....
These people DO NOT answers phones,
These people DO NOT reply to emails,
...and the office staff is plain rude.
Very run down, new owners are from another country that's been in the news a lot since a certain vrus "escaped", customer service, what's that?
Never again!!
Please don't use staff shortage as an excuse for everything.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Island West Resort more like Island Last Resort
Paid $160 for 3 nights in a tent. Sites are about 10 feet wide, so there is absolutely no privacy. Bathroom is mostly broken, standing water, mould and large spiders in the shower (each shower costs $4 and lasts 5 minutes. Women’s showers simply don’t work and eats tokens. Bathrooms look like they are cleaned on an annual basis.
Better off to sleep in your car.
Give me a refund or I’m calling the health department?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I was concerned regarding the negative reviews this place has but overall it is a good accommodation for the price you pay. The upper floor has only stairway so not accessible for the disabled people. Note that the building is quite old and power outlets have become a bit loose my phone charger kept falling from the receptacle so i had to use the power socket in the kitchen. Bathroom and living room were clean. It seems it recently got painted from inside. We stayed with two kids and had no problems. Our room had kitchen too so we also cooked breakfast. No complaints from our end as we did not want to pay $500/night in other lodges. I guess negative reviews are from people who want to pay less but expect a 5 star service.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ After reading the reviews online i was doubtful whether to book a stay in Island West resort but as there were no other vacancies available online at the time i was booking so I end up booking there though I was hopeful that it should be okay.
But when i reached in my room i found it neat, clean and very spacious. Kitchenette has all major utensils , crockeries and other things whatever i could reasonably wish. I was amazed by their preparedness/ thinking they had given new small kitchen towels and other essential items. I recommend this place. It has a great value to it. I had to leave the window open in kitchen area to make the room airy otherwise it was hot inside.
