Isis Women's Health Clinic - Calgary

The team at this Health Centre is nothing short of amazing. The referral coordinator went over and above, to arrange a smooth transition of information from ON to AB. The RN is incredibly knowledgeable and thorough in the information she provides, but does so in a very warm and welcoming way. Dr. Mahalingham is not only extremely competent, but has the most wonderful bedside manner - throwing in compassion and humour to make new patients feel at ease. Given the countless unpleasant, insensitive, incompetent medical offices that Calgary is innundated by, anyone who is lucky enough to be accepted by this practice should count their blessings.

I hope you like leaving voicemails. No one answers the phone EVER! Any time of day! Should have been a red flag when the voicemail manager actually said please don't leave more than one message per day. I was referred to Dr. Suri for my second pregnancy and was told her office would contact me. They never did so I called them a few weeks later (left a voicemail). Sill no word two business days later (left another voicemail). They called me back while I was in a meeting and left me a voicemail with appointment dates and asked me to call back to confirm. I called them back 5 minutes after they called me and guess what... GOT THEIR VOICEMAIL! I had some concerns around my pregnancy and when I finally got to talk to a human (by keeping my phone on me on ring at all times even during work meetings) the receptionist on the other end said I should talk to the nurse so she put my call through to the nurse's phone. Guess what happened when the nurse's phone rang... that's right... I left another voicemail. That voice mail was left almost a month ago now and I still have not gotten a call back. Left my last voicemail today asking to cancel all my appointments. I have found alternate care.

Dr. Albrecht was amazing. She worked closely with me and made sure all my needs for a safe delivery were met with my high risk pregnancy. Because of her, I have a wonderful little human and I am alive to talk about it. Thank you forever ❤

I could not be happier with the entire team at Isis Women's Health Clinic. My primary physician was Dr. Baranowski and my main contact nurse was Shanda. To say I had a lot of questions would be an understatement! They took the time, answered everything and made sure I was always taken care of, especially having a baby during a pandemic. When its time for baby #2, I will happily march my way into their front door again. They always made sure myself and baby were healthy, happy and taken care of. Thank you for everything!

I wasted so much time and energy on this clinic - that wasted time was spent crying, mostly. After my referral from my doctors, I finally got an appointment for my IUD removal, and when I went in the day of, the receptionist was extremely rude and told her coworker under her breath that I was supposed to come in the day before. I checked and I had had the right day so I apologized and said I didn’t know what happened, and the lady told me that she had tried to call me twice without leaving a message, something I didn’t see because I was at work the day she was calling. They had tried to call me (very poorly) to reschedule me for the day they were calling. We made another appointment for the following week and I left in tears so embarrassed. I didn’t even want to go back the next week but I had no choice. I wanted to wait before I put another IUD in to see if some issues cleared up, and when they did, I tried to make an appointment to put it in, left a message, and didn’t hear back for a month. Tried to leave another message, and like everyone else, got the same thing where you literally will go insane if you want to talk to someone on the phone there. It doesn’t seem to actually happen. Tried to leave a message and the voicemail didn’t work. Tried again, didn’t work. Eventually I called my family doctors office and asked if anyone there could help me, and the receptionists booked me in for a consult with one of their doctors there. This clinic made me go insane. Every time I think about their treatment towards me or any of the other women I’ve read reviews from, I want to cry. I forget her name, but the OBGYN I ended up seeing when I did manage to go in was nice enough, but not nice enough to make up for every thing else. If you can go anywhere else, do so.

It's a shame this clinic is run so poorly because the doctors are really great. Dr. Suri and Dr. Albrecht give acceptional, service. But, you cannot get through to this clinic! There's been a few instances where I've had concerns, such as developing infection and all I was able to do was leave a voicemail. The calls are never returned. I ended up having to go to a walk in clinic to get antibiotics, and I never heard from Isis. The receptionists are rude and forgetful. For a clinic that sees high risk patients, it's concerning how little they care.

There is some room for improvement at reception of this clinic but the service I received from Dr Coughlan was easily 5/5. From the moment I met her she gave me time to ask questions, explained things in detail and was a straight shooter. Her balance of being real with he facts but supportive was exactly what I would want in an OB. She held my hand as I was put under for surgery and I was treated with empathy and kindness through the whole process from first meeting to OR to follow up. She's a wonderful Dr., I hope she sets the standard for all OBs.

My experience with Isis during my twin pregnancy was absolutely amazing! Dr.Coughlan took great care of me, and I was well supported with their team of OBs during the birth as well. The clinic was very responsive through their online messaging system when I needed to use it. I would (and have) reccommend(ed) this clinic to anyone looking for an OB.
