As a music school owner with over thirty years of teaching and performance experience, Jennifer not only created Imagine Music Lessons in 1994, but she continues to enhance its reputation throughout Calgary while providing students with fun, creative and inspiring music lessons.
She is a highly respected music teacher, accompanist, contemporary pop and jazz pianist with a history of playing at numerous events, including weddings, corporate parties and private functions. Even as a child, Jennifer began to embellish her music. On her first instrument, the organ, she quickly learned how to chord, orchestrate sounds and rhythm settings.
At 16, she was teaching new and creative improvisation techniques to students of all ages. She went on to study piano and keyboard at Mount Royal University, graduating with a Diploma in Jazz and Contemporary Music Performance. Furthermore, she completed the Royal Conservatory of Music Level 8 in piano and theory.
Affiliated with the Alberta Piano Teachers Association (APTA) and the Calgary Arts & Summer School Association (CASSA), Jennifer can inspire you to learn and love the beauty of music.

She is very patient and caring to her students. She specializes in piano and vocal lessons to fit students' needs. Marilyn and Cindy not only work on technique but also theory, musicality, and effective practicing. The thing I like most about Marilyn is she has a genuine love of music and she inspires Cindy to enjoy music as she does. She also makes the lessons fun, so Cindy is motivated to practice all the time. Thanks to Marilyn's positive and encouraging teaching style, lessons are always enjoyable!

I just started taking lessons here at the age of 25, and have been enjoying every second. The pacing of the lessons is fantastic, my instructor is super friendly, and overall Imagine Music Inc. has helped me fall in love with piano. I highly recommend taking lessons with this company!!!

When I left, one of my students became junior teacher and now I am very happy to see that she has lots of students and does a good job there. As teachers we want to do a meaningful work and it was very satisfying that I could do it with the management support and by having students who were the right fit. If I ever go back to Calgary, I would love to resume my teaching there. Great place to work and make life lasting friendships!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Seven years ago, in 2015, I enrolled my child for piano lessons with Jennifer. Fast forward to 2022 and both my children are enrolled with Jennifer. Right from my very first interaction with her,
Jennifer was extremely patient and answered all the questions I had about the lessons she offered.
Jennifer’s kindness, patience and teaching skills have kept my children going back to her. She imparts good techniques and has instilled an appreciation of music in them. One of my children is now enrolled in violin lessons through Imagine Music with Hannah and is thoroughly enjoying it.
Over the years I have seen many of her student’s “graduate” and go onto to become junior music teachers under her tutelage. Jennifer is not just a teacher but a “guru” in the true sense.
I would have no hesitation in recommending Jennifer and Imagine Music to anyone looking for music lessons.
