Update: they have finally restocked the paper for the receipts. Beware of depositing on the weekend though the envelopes are always out of stock. Maybe its time to go envelopeless like the other major banks.

The bankers in this branch do not know the Canadian regulations as indicated by FCAC, people who wishes to open a bank account or require service I highly recommend doing it online. Even for deposits or withdrawals I recommend doing it through the ATM or ABM or somehow connect the account to PayPal.

I arrive in Canada a few month ago, went into this HSBC branch at Yonge, great service on my account opening process. A lady served me with her good local knowledge. Just last month, I obtained a mortgage with them on my condo and the rate is very very good! I recommended my friends to get service from them. Great place to bank!

Elena and David are nice but the branch manager makes no sense and is weird. Deposited gift money from graduation to move all the funds to another bank account by one bank draft for my first home downpayment due next Monday, and the branch manager forced my to close my account if I want to take out my money by bank draft......? Excuse me? I got a hard credit pull for opening the account and you force me to close it with your ultimate authority? No wonder the review is so low although staffs seem nice, because of the moody branch manager F.H with ultimate authority!! One star for Elena and David, all others fade out by F.H

The worst banking experience I could have imagined! I went there to open an account. Only one person was working at the desk despite the long que, when I got there and met with "personal banking specialist" to open an account after 45 minutes of asking me questions about my life and past she asked which country you were born in, when did you travel there the last time , how many times per year do you travel there, is someone going to send you money from there in the future! Is someone going to send you money from anywhere in the world! The more questions she asked I was getting more and more upset ! How these are related to my bank???? In exchange she said you can just say you were born in Canada and I won't need to ask all these questions!!!! I believe asking questions for 45 minutes is absolutely unnecessary and inconvenient to open a simple chequeing account! I ended up leaving the bank and asking them to shred my paperwork.

The worst customer service in 20 years. I went there to open an account since I am a customer in my home country. Everything is a problem with them. Nothing works smoothly. I managed to open the account not thanks to anyone there. My relationship manger is less than useless. She even create problems instead of solving it. Over the period of the past 2 years I remember out of 8 times I went their for some business, only one of them I left satisfied. on the other hand, dealing with Tellers is OK. never faced a problem. I have another account with TD and I am happy with their customer service team. I forgot to say that I am HSBC premier customer. I have a friend has dealing with HSBC in Wilson Ave. his experience is completely different. so it seems the problem with this branch customer service team.

Untrained staff do not know what services are available I have to go to another HSBC branch which has proper staff to enjoy normal banking services

Worst hsbc branch ever! Wish I can give zero star. Always understaffed. Staff are poorly trained and are always slow. They don’t even care if other customers cut your line, instead they are even ok with cutting lines. Definitely the worst bank in the GTA
