I've been banking with DUCA for over 25 years. I originally joined DUCA because it had the lowest fees, friendliest staff, and I didn't feel like I was a number. In the last 5 years, I've seen DUCA burn like an out-of-control dumpster fire; from it's horrible ATM being increasingly unavailable, the sketchy app, to a former branch manager who lost my money in cyberspace for a week. DUCA went from being a 5+ Bank to being a -1 (Google needs to update its rating system to include integers).

Despite disability (and making sure they were aware of my condition) I walked in to open an account today. No receptionist or anybody to talk to, couple of employees looking at me from way back completely ignoring that I am waiting. Finally one man walks around, I called him over and told him what I was there for, he pointed to the only teller helping a customer who must’ve been renewing his mortgage because several minutes later he still was busy. Then one guy walks up behind another counter and obviously uninterested in getting my business, he says I don’t have anyone available to help you! It’s 11:30AM on a Monday, so I’m not sure where β€œanybody” was that couldn’t spend ten minutes opening an new account. After explaining to him that I can’t come back, he offers an appointment later in the week! I once again explained my predicament but he was obviously uninterested and simply said bye. Why they spend their members in advertising for new accounts is beyond me, but they do. Strongly advise against doing business with these guys until they improve their customer relations. Horrible!

This is a place where you are treated like a person, not a number - my mother sent me a regular cheque for a bridge loan I needed when buying a condominium; the funds needed to be available immediately. Despite the fact that the money wasn't guaranteed (i.e. cheque was not certified), the manager released the funds right away so that the deal could close. Try getting that kind of service at any of the big banks! And Duca doesn't nickel and dime you to death - no service fees for normal, everyday transactions. That's why they have been my primary financial institution for 35 years.

They are unprofessional,and they can't do simple things like opening an account for international students from the France ! I am so sorry for the customers who are trusting this branch!

Had an unfortunate experience with DUCA representative - Laksamana, applied for business banking account and credit card, and provided all necessary information. Was approved for banking immediately, as per rep, was told that credit card application takes 7-10business days. Contacted Laksamana, got no response, contacted again he said he will follow up, contacted third time he said that he just submitted the application... thats a month a half later. Contacted him again two weeks later, no response, contacted the customer service line the next day - lady said that application was submitted incorrectly. She redid the application and got approved the next day. Got a call a few days later from Laksamana asking for supporting tax documents... regarding his application. Received a credit card from that was applied for through customer service... I think your branch employees may benefit from additional training in credit card application submission, and timely follow up with customers. Was kept in a darkness about the status of my application for 3 month.

Spoke with Saurabh Garg regarding a mortgage enquiry we had. Must say he is very knowledgeable, spent quality time understanding our requirements and educating us on the available options about the market, mortgage, payment options and the whole journey for us to better prepared and aware. Thank you Saurabh for all your time and educating us about a Mortgage, truly appreciate it!

Avoid at all costs. Terrible experience with a mortgage product. I had a mortgage with Duca and was dealing with Marta who ignored my calls and acted as if she was doing me a favour by talking to me. Since was planning to sell the place asked about penalties. Was quoted $4k for mortgage cancellation. But when I sold the place few months later I got billed $17 thousand because of their own rate change.escalated to branch manager and nothing they could have done. Terrible experience. Avoid at all costs.

Duca is my worst nightmare. I do NOT recommend joining if you want to access your money. The amount of waiting one has to do is tremendous. This bank is extremely inconvenient and inefficient. Join at your own risk. The staff are very friendly.
