I was there yesterday 16 March. My wife and I were the only ones in the store. Great selection, poor service. Other than being cheerily welcomed into the store we were never asked if we could be helped or needed help. We looked at a beautiful selection of cheeses in the coolers but the two ladies working the store were not interested in helping us or selling anything to us. I felt like I was in some forbidden land where I could look but not touch. As I needed cheese and didn’t want to make another stop I bought a couple of samples from the self serve cooler and left.

This was my first time visit to specialized 'cheese only' store. They have good collection. I hope they would provide a bit more information to 'overwhelmed' customer who are still learning ABC of Cheese. If they can sell samples (not looking for freebies) that can help new people to try and buy cheese. Looking forward to my next visit.

Great service! Went there to get a gift for a family member, but I know nothing about cheese. The woman behind the counter was very helpful, provided some great suggestions, and I was able to stay within my price range.

I have had quite a few experiences with this business. The cheese selection is great, along with an awesome set of "sides" (olives, anti-pastos, deli, etc). The staff has consistently been friendly, though pretty hands-off, which is actually a trait I like when browsing and trying to digest their gargantuan selection! I have asked questions, received recommendations, etc, and always been given adequate help and great cheese.

Well that was rancid... Sold me liteteral rotting brie. The majority of the cheese they had in stock was well after the best before date. My own fault for trusting a place that had stuff that has expired product on the shelf next to what I bought I guess.

A great selection of quality cheese. I went in to find cheese for my first ever fondu and the owner was very helpful. The second time I went back I told him about my first fondu experience he suggested a couple of tweaks for the next one. This will be my go-to spot for specialty cheeses from now on.

My first visit was only about 10 days ago but have been back twice since! Service is friendly and helpful with some descriptions and suggestions. I feel for the small businesses that just opened at the start of the pandemic. I encourage all my fellow barrhaven neighbours to try and support small specialty businesses like this one. Also - bought my first designated cheese knife here and am pleased my slices are no longer sticking to the knife! ?. Product hint: we just had a cheese with bits of truffle (real truffle, not flavoured) throughout and it may have been the best I’ve eve had!

I get that the $15 charcuterie box is meant to be an affordable option, but it was really disappointing for a cheese shop’s product. An adult lunchable, really. Everything in it felt like it had been picked off a grocery store shelf β€” I don’t think I’ve ever seen marble cheddar outside of a grocery store. The presentation was lacklustre, too β€” slices of Brie that were too wide to fit on the mini crackers in the box, and cubes of marble cheddar and maybe some kind of havarti that both were so bland they were indistinguishable in taste. The sliced meat that came in the box was just alright, too. The staff member at the counter was friendly, but not very helpful. She opened the charcuterie box to show me what’s inside, but didn’t go over what any of the meats and cheeses are, nor was there any kind of label on the box. The glass case was filled with cheeses that looked more like what one would expect in a cheese shop, but the member of staff also didn’t recommend any of those. I asked if they served sandwiches, which they don’t, which is a bit odd for a place labelled as a deli. All in all, a very mediocre experience. I wouldn’t go here again.
