For the price rooms not worth it. Small rooms, view of railroad tracks which are loud. Room is kinda dinged up and well worn. Doorways to staff areas on floors are filthy with dirty hand prints. Trim in halls and doorways have been beat up over the years. Not the polish one would expect in such a hotel. Lobby is gorgeous and lounge/ restaurant is by far best part of hotel

I stayed there for 3 nights in February . The location is very central with many good restaurants nearby. The lobby was impressive and service was good. There is a public parkade next to the hotel that is easily accessible through the plus 15 system. The hotel pool and hot tub were pretty nice (although the pool water could've been warmer and I did notice that no one had picked up towels left by other people). I found the room to be basic. It was clean but dated. I guess I expected a bit more from a Fairmont.

Not exactly what I really expected A little disappointed that the gold for was closed during our stay. We had to stay in a signature room instead. However, it says on the website that the room was recently renovated, but clearly, our room is really aged and not renovated for at least 15 years. Other than that, they send us Christmas socks and the staffs were extremely friendly. I would recommend this hotel if the gold floor is opened again.

The front desk staff seemed really overwhelmed and flustered. He made a few mistakes, including checking someone in our party in the wrong room. The rooms were comfortable and spacious but too hot! Even with the window open the room hardly cooled down. The gold floor service was amazing and the food was always delicious. Worth the extra!

Amazing hotel. The staff very helpful and attentive. Great location in the middle of downtown. Friday nights they have some of Calgary's best deejays in The Hawthorne Lounge. In the same room on Saturdays they have a 3 piece band and Sundays an absolutely fantastic brunch. I highly reccomend popping in for a bite to eat and drinks.

Room was a single king bed and it was nice. Spacious but the washroom was tight. Clean for the most part but the washroom vent was needing a clean. Pet friendly hotel so for some this will be a positive, for us it was not. Awakened at 2am by a crying puppy and gave it about 15 minutes to be consoled and quieted down but after 15 minutes of continuous crying had to call the front desk. They said they would call and have it dealt with, not sure how they knew which room to call but shortly there after the puppy stopped crying. Same thing at 4:30am and again at 7:15am.... Not a great night. At check out was asked how the stay was and politely let them know that the crying puppy made for a sleepless night. "Sorry about that. Will that be on your MasterCard?" Thought maybe they would buy us breakfast or perhaps comp us the cheesecake we shared the evening before. Nope. The lobby restaurant band was great. The cheesecake was really good but poor value. $14 for a slice smaller than a McDonalds apple pie. It's a convenient downtown location with nice amenities but it was expensive and we did not feel we got what we paid for in customer service or value.

Great location, impeccable valet , beautiful classy decor, thou starting to show its age in the rooms. Ice bucket and garbages didn’t have bags inside and fridge fully stocked with a variety. Space left available for personal items in fridge would have been appreciated. The pool/spa are quite lovely, perfectly tempted with plenty of space and seating. Complimentary robes in room are always useful thou we couldn’t locate the spa slippers. Elevators are smaller but hallways are nice and wide for carts. Minus some riff Raffβ€˜s in the pool near close it was a beautiful relaxing stay.

Staff were kind and very helpful! Especially those in the restaurant. The dinner menu is family/sharing style so would be great if you were with a friend, or a couple people, but found it odd for a single traveller. The in room dining menu is good for single dinners. Breakfast was very good, 10/10 would recommend! The pool is quite cold, and the "hot tub" feels more like a bathtub, plus the jets are currently broken. Overall, great stay if just passing through, or need a place close to the main city centre with great service and large rooms!
