I almost felt like family with how well the staff treated us. We had the burger and the starter fries....the fries were the best I've ever had in my whole life. The 5 star review was for the food but also for the staff, they were truly amazing throughout our whole time there....we are already looking forward to going back.

I would recommend not ordering from the cocktail menu. $23 for a drink that doesn't taste good is disappointing. The food was good (1/2 roasted chicken a must) but I am not a fan of the share plates format. A little bit of chicken enough for 2 at most and a plate of Brussel sprouts that would feed 10. Doesn't make sense. I expect better for the high price tag!

The next morning we had breakfast, and it was fantastic! Really great vibe, fair prices, and staff that is very polite, helpful, and invested in serving you.

Food was amazing .They even gave a surprise Birthday treat .. Service was great too. Lovely calm.ambience perfect for couples or maximum group of 5. More capm.and romantic . There was free parking facilities too.

Renata was very polite and helpful, she also gives amazing recommendations if you’re stuck on what to drink or have for dessert. We had the albacore tuna to start and it was a very crisp and refreshing way to start off the meal. The scallops were incredibly tasty; my girlfriend loved the decadent butter cream sauce and chorizo pairing. The burger was exceptional; great smoke/grill flavour and tasteful condiments that complimented the beef. I think our favourite part were the fries though, haha, think McDonald’s fries but way better; you have to try them. Finally on Renata’s recommendation we had the panna cotta which was amazing; very light, creamy, and a great way to end the meal. We highly recommend Hawthorn; a little pricey but the experience is worth it.

Yea selections very good and the pastries and treats exceed our expectations. Happy as always with Fairmont staff and with atmosphere. Is it the most expensive tea in Calgary? Seems to be, but it’s also great food, and tea. The only thing this place is missing is a view, but the people watching is always good at hotels.

Here is our review on what we tried: ? Steelhead Trout ????? ? Fried Brusse Sprouts ????? ? Vegetarian Pasta ????? The food was good, though we felt they had very few seafood or vegetarian options. It was very pricey too but I think one pays more for experience and ambiance there.
