Hôtel Dieu Hospital has been understatedly fantastic in so many ways!! Every single nurse has been delightfully pleasant & comforting. Empathetic, kind and all around amazing. Nurses I Must Publicly Thank: Angela, Acadia, Lief, Rachel, Kathryn, Jennifer, Candace, Alicia, Jenn-Kelly, Teresita, Zoe, Catherine, Ailene, Kirsten, Ellie, Lindsay, Trisha, 2nd Angela, Suzanne, Jackie, & Christina. Thank you Each and EVERY one of you. Everyone has made some positive impact during my stay here, or touched my innards to kept me safe, and infection free. I feel it necessary to publicly thank you all for your excellent bedside manner, professionalism and team oriented partnership that makes this place an extremely comforting, Save Haven to recuperate in a state of physical distress. A Safe place to Trust & Believe, that if I ever need to come here again, I KNOW FACTUALLY; I’m in excellent care and in the hands of the BEST surgeons in hundreds of miles around. If I’ve forgotten some of your names please forgive me. I’m sure I have. Anyone that has had anything to do with my care in my stupidity: breaking my ankle with my SummerBoard: I need EACH OF YOU to understand that If it wasn’t for everyone involved in my care I may not be as well as I am today. How grand or petite the involvement. I mean this. Thank you. Everyone….. security, cleaning crew…. That rando dude I kept running into well wishing me better.. all of you…. ? ???? ?????? The care I’ve received here has far surpassed anything I’ve received in previous medical facilities over the years. Passionate, gentle care goes such a long way. Even sitting down and talking makes a difference. Asking, (ok, but how are you reeeally doing….) makes a world of a difference. This has Been a long recovery, and a boring one (thanks Covid) but hey! Don’t mess yourself up and you won’t end up like me!!!! KGH Loaded the bases for Hôtel Dieu. Then; *BA-DAO* Hit a Grand Slam Home Run* Exceptional would be a horrible understatement to define the type of care of what to expect. Thank you for caring for someone so much, without judgement, I’m not even from around here. You’ve made such an incredible difference in my personal life, I truly cannot thank your WHOLE TEAM enough. I came here when I had pneumonia, and the nurses treated me rudely and with disrespect. I’m upset and frustrated by this because I feel like if you work for health care, you should have some remorse for the people who are sick in your place of work. Really disappointed coming from a Queen’s Life science student. I hope to see some improvement in the future.

Staff are excellent. A very clean environment. I've been dealing with eye clinic over a year. Dr Gonder and his team make every visit pleasant and enjoyable. They are courteous and supportive. The hospital has great parking in the garage or on the street. There is an excellent cafe which will surprise you. This is a well run hospital.

spent days trying to get my girlfriend to goto the hospital as shes having major heart pains that start with exercise and then branch out to neck and other limbs, stabbing pains in the heart, major increase in heart rate, nausea and all the major symptoms of heart attack progression . She has many high risk factors that lead to heart issues such as smoking, 20 year eating disorder history and history of drug use and so on. After getting an xray done the doctor seemed intent on blaming the issue on heartburn even though my girlfriend and I advocating for her stressed that none of the symptoms lined up with that. She suggested aspirin or antacid to help despite us already saying she had been taking it during and before the episodes with zero effect. Sent us home with no advice as to how to prevent it. She did not listen to anything we said and sent us home after spending the entire day in emergency. Now my gf is soo upset she does not want to see any doctors convinced they just do not listen or care. I am terrified my gf is going to have another heart attack and refuse medical attention due to this experience

I am so impressed with the service I received at KHSC (Hotel Dieu) recently. From the moment I arrived at the urgent care centre I was well taken care of. The screeners, triage, assistants and doctor were efficient, polite and kind. Especially Noah and Farah. Thank you so much!

I had surgery at Hotel Dieu March 23 and spent 3 nights on Johnson ward. All the doctors, nurses and PCAs I had were fantastic. I could not have asked for better staff during my stay. Thank you to everyone of you.

I had a specialist appointment for diabetes this week that I was on a waiting list for 6 months for. When I got there, I was put into a room for an hour before anyone came in to see me, and even then it was only a student doctor. He asked me if I was married, which looking back I don't see how that was relevant whatsoever. I was there for a total of 3 hours, only seeing the actual specialist for about 10 minutes and she rushed right through it. Don't book patients for a time if you're already booked up. I lost 3 hours of wages from work to go to this thing, and ultimately walked away feeling like my issues didn't matter and weren't given the time with the specialist that was needed. When I told the doctor how much of a pain it was to arrange transportation to go down there where there's no parking and stupid one way streets, she looked at me like I had three heads. I will say that the staff was all very friendly, however I totally wasted my time.

One of the nurses took blood, gave me medicine, and an IV all through the same tube. Not to mention she had no care in taking it out, literally YANKED it out of me. This was about 7 days ago and my pinky is STILL asleep and my whole arm is sore. But what really bothered me was when I was leaving, she just put her head down when she saw me and ignored me thanking her. Don’t know what I should be thankful for !
