We had an amazing experience with Bob today, who gave us a great snowboarding lesson. Clear explanations, patience, good humour, and great attitude to customers, we could not think of a better instructor and a better lesson. Thanks, Bob. We will be remembering you with gratitude and will turn to you if require an upgrade in our skills! BTW, great job with Burton stock, we loved our equipment. Thank you, Horseshoe, for this experience! We'll be happy to come back.

Don't often write reviews but this is worth taking time to acknowledge superior customer service and an overall great experience - Had sent a request for ski lessons and within a matter of hours not only my request was returned by email - a phone call followed up. Must say that was very impressed by Owen. Was pleasant, polite and very knowledgeable. He made sure all of our questions were answered - followed up with another phone call to confirm our booking. This experience alone will have us come back to the resort and make sure we tell anyone interested in visiting. Keep up the good work!

Had an amazing 2 days of snowboarding/skiing with my partner. Hill were fairly empty during this midweek stay but all lifts were open as well as trails. The food was excellent and all the staff we encountered were absolutely amazing and supper freindly and helpful. The room was large and had everything we needed,. Which wasn't much for one night where we only slept and showered in. Already planning next year with maybe extending to 2 nights. The only thing was it was a little dated but nothing horrible at all.

Was there for tubing. The kids and I had a blast. Loved all the fireplaces I could sit beside while the kids played. Employees were super friendly and a couple stopped to tall while we ate. 2 stats lost because....well I'm never okay with price gouging. You don't need to charge $8 for a hot dog under any circumstance. I know...only rich people welcome. You don't want poor people to be able to enjoy things like food and fun. It's really just horrendous. Would've been a 5 star otherwise.

Great local hill for all levels. Really awesome lessons program for little ones for both skiing and snowboarding. Instructors are enthusiastic and caring. The lodge is “Covid-closed” for now but they have maintained access to the washrooms (thank goodness!) and have big outdoor fire pits going and an outdoor snack bar with hot and cold items. I think they’re doing a great job all things considered!

Great mid week trip! Stayed at the Copeland House where our suite was big, spacious and well equipped. Better than most in Ontario AND Quebec. Excellent Cross Country Skiing in the Copeland Forest. Very friendly staff in the hotel and restaurants. Perfect mid week break. We already have recommended to others!

This is a fantastic place for a family vacation. I went with my wife and two kids, 10 and 8, to ski and snowboard. The slopes were perfect for our family, with a good variety of runs, both easy and mid-level. The kids have been learning on a smaller hill, so having the opportunity to ski and snowboard on higher and longer runs was a very nice treat. There aren't very many advanced runs, so if you're looking for a challenge, this isn't the place for you. We bought the ski and stay package, so we got passes for night skiing, the one night at the hotel, and the full day of skiing the next day, which is very good value compared to all those sold separately. Lines were virtually non-existent, as we were there on Thursday night and all day Friday. We would ski down the hill and ski right onto the chairlift, occasionally waiting a minute for 3 or 4 groups of people ahead of us. There is an amazing terrain park, which requires a separate park pass to go on. There was a competition occurring when we visited, and it was amazing to watch the competitors do their tricks live. There is nothing else nearby, so you're limited to the restaurant choices on resort, which are of course quite expensive, but they do the job of giving you a chance to warm up and get some food in your belly so that you're ready to get back out on the slopes. We stayed at the Inn, which is furthest from the hill out of all the hotel options, but still very much walkable with your gear from your room. The rooms are simple, but ours was clean and comfortable. We only needed a place to sleep and otherwise didn't spend any time there. There's a small pool in the hotel, along with a hot pool and sauna. Overall, a fantastic place to bring a young family. I'm sure that we'll be returning again next year.

This year I am trying to embrace winter a bit more which means escaping to local getaways and trying out winter activities. I finally tried out tubing for the first time at HorseshoeValley. It is about one and a half hours north of Toronto and in the Barrie area. You can tube for 3 hours although I lasted about an hour. There are other activities that you can try too such as snow shoeing, skiing, snowboarding and more. Tickets can be purchased in advance and I highly suggest going early for a more quieter and enjoyable experience. They have three session to choose from to do the tubing. It would be a good idea to try to a combination of activities for variety. It also be nice to get a combined package although I did not notice this and hope it gets introduced. With restrictions in place it is a great activity to try out this year. It be nice to see this area developed more and hope to come back next year and try other the other activities available. Make sure to check it out and explore and support local in Ontario. They are located at 1101 Horseshoe Valley Rd W, Barrie, ON.
