Decided to come here and order take out the other day. Ordered the Spicy Beef Brisket Lo Mein and are at home. Small dining space. Ambiance is okay. But due to the pandemic. Obviously there was nobody there. Glad they were open as not many other restaurants are these days and if they are, very short hours during the day. I came here because they were the only restaurant open within a short walking distance. The food is decent. It's not hard to make. So the order was quick. They staff are friendly and respectful. The portion is decent generously surprisingly. The noodles were cooked well. And the taste and flavor was quite good. There's not a lot of Hon's franchises around anymore. The only one that I can think of in Vancouver is the one in Chinatown. The food is decent. If you want Chinese food that's quick on the go. You can definitely come here and order out to eat at the comforts and safety of your home. The prices are relatively decent for what you're getting portion wise. Be sure to tip generously during this challenging season! Support our local businesses!! We need each other during this time of the pandemic. Let's get through it together by supporting our local businesses as much as we are able to. Give Hon's a try! :)

I'm struggling to understand why this joint has such a low rating. I agree that there's nothing spectacular about what they offer, yet the food they serve is very decent and for a reasonable price, especially taking into account the area. I like that the menu is minimal but covers all the essential Cantonese dishes. Service is absolutely amazing, and the joint itself is very clean and neat. Maybe I'm not that picky, but I think this place deserves solid four stars.

Have not been to Hon's after they closed on Robson. Decided to go for lunch today at their 2nd ave location. Ordered the Wonton noodles. Service was fast and efficient. The food was another story. The soup was completely bland, only slightly more flavor than water. I had to wonder whether the chef had even tasted the soup as no one would serve soup this bad. Noodles were OK. Wontons were average. All in all, worst wonton noodles I've had. I haven't tried anything else but if you're interested in wonton noodles, this is not the place.

Food was good overall. I ordered rice rolls that were a decent portion, and shared some with a friend. We sat near the window inside on a sunny day and there were a lot of flies that kept pestering us. Other that, the service was good. I might come back and try something else on their menu.

Haven't tried Hon's in ages. It definitely hit the spot and brought back old school memories of a noodle joint. Ordered take out, and it took about 10 minutes to get everything together. Ordered 7 items. The kitchen is open so you can see the noodle process. Noodles nice and springy. The fried dumpling was low key really good. Would go back and get that again. This place really focused on the items on the menu so it's definitely more of a "I feel like wonton noodles and a few other things" versus I'm looking for 100 different options for lunch. Parking - street metered parking. If you drive around and don't mind walking, might find some free parking 5 - 10 min away.

I avoided Hon's when they were on Robson Street because I heard about their intensive use of MSG. I recently read a Google review that says they seemed to have reduced their use of MSG, so we tried them for lunch. I ordered BBQ pork on rice. While the pork is not exactly pork belly, actually, it was not freshly BBQ'd and seemed quite dry, I was only mildly uncomfortable in my tummy after lunch – and that might be because I ate too many pieces of port (indigestion) rather than having an all out CRS (Chinese Restaurant Syndrome). The Gai Lan was very fresh. And I saw other items like pot stickers and braised beef which I might come back for. As well, the reason I chose Hon's was because I wanted to pick up a package of rice rolls, but I didn't see any grocery store fridges in there. I asked just in case, and they have it – I was able to purchase a package of Hon's rice roll – I was happy about that. I was going to give 3-stars for the food. But the service was pleasant – we added one more star just for service.

CHECK YOUR RECEIPT!! They charge us auto tip 15%? without saying any word! Also the card machine ask to give the tip so I give them 30% tip that I don't want to pay!! And they keep rushing us to order when we enter the restaurant. Food was a bit salty and and the service was Terrible I ordered wide noodles but got regular ones, and didn't even apologize about the auto tip. I think I'll never come back this location again.
