Hinton - Jasper KOA Holiday

It was very quiet and spacious; a good place to enjoy with family or relatives. The cabin was very clean and well kept. It was very quiet at night, enough so that I slept with the windows open. It was also conveniently located close to a grocery store and restaurants, a 5 minute drive from downtown Hinton.

The nasty thing is they lock you in with gates and pad locks, having cancer and at times having medical emergencies, no exception emergency or not, you are a hostage till morning, WE DO NOT RECOMMEND THAT PLACE

Not super responsive when you have questions, I left a message a few days before my trip and the call was returned to me 6 days after I got back from actually staying at the site! The campsite was decent, but it is NOT as close to Jasper as it seems, it is a 75km jaunt every time you want to head into Jasper so if your plan is to go to Jasper every day this might not be the campsite for you. If you are ok with the distance it is great. Very close to Hinton for all your shopping needs and Hinton also has a great golf course! The young lady in the general store was friendly I can't speak to any of the amenities as we never used them.

For 66$ a night / week days , 76$ a night on weekends you would think you have wifi that they say if free , lies. They over charged us . The fire pavilion was filled with all the campsites picnic tables a week or so before the Koa closes. They say free fire wood but its only 4 or 5 pieces a day for everyone in the campground to use . We have a water filter on our water system and it was full of grass and sand when we took it off . I will never stay there again

We were very poorly treated by the manager who was not friendly and widely rude (she was conflictual, commented on stuff that she had no business into, and even called us liars). Putting aside the horrible service, the camping itself isn't particulalry nice. We were in tents and the campground has no tree or shade, no privacy. Hot shower was nice after days in the backcountry but not particularly clean. It was also overpriced. I don't recommend staying there.

This place has gone downhill in the last few years. Pretty sure the ownership has changed because I never see the original people that opened the place anymore. This used to be an excellent place to stay. The bathrooms were always so clean and the cabins too. They had an arcade for the kids which has now been turned into storage facility. The bathrooms used to be scrubbed down every morning and sparkled, now I don’t think they even scrub the floors or showers cause the dirt is ground into the floor, the corners are full of dirt and the showers are stained. The mattresses are paper thin, might as well sleep on the wood. Wifi is horrible if you are lucky enough to connect and prices have gone up more in the last few years then they did in the 10 years prior. This last experience I was told they close September 30th. We called to confirm that we would still have access to everything and would assured we would. Upon arriving on September 23rd, we were told the campfire pit was closed for the season as well as the campers kitchen. We had no hot water in the cabin and were told they were considering turning off the water completely on the 24th but told us they will keep on till the 25th. The road is bumpy and it just does not have the same feel it used to. I have been attending this place at least once a year for the last 15 years or so and I am so disheartened by the way it has gone downhill. When bringing concerns to the managers attention, she told me she could check me out so I could go elsewhere, I then requested a discount and she gave me 10%. She was clearly not impressed with my complaint. Also I’m not sure they have any care or concerns to fill the vending machines, they all say out of order including the ones in the laundry room.

No trees just rvs packed tightly together. No fire pits? Like that's half of camping...having a fire. Overpriced mass produced campground. The only good thing about this one was the dog park in the corner. Not worth the money AT ALL

Never had such a bad experience with camp ground booking . We booked over phone . Confirmed there was a communal fire pit that we can use. Upon arrival there was a person who have no intent or supposed to be working there . Camp ground provided was with no fire pit no option for a plug in . We asked him we were told that we can use the communal fire pit . He disagreed and said no argument and offered a refund right away . We were shocked and took the refund and left the site . Happy we didn’t stayed there . Like I mentioned , the owners had some one who is not supposed to be doing that job .
