Josh and his team truly go above and beyond in all aspects of the home buying experience. With this being our first home, we felt comfortable and confident with the Higgelke Mortgage Group from our first contact until the day we took possession of our new home. Often, Josh ends our phone call with "Happy to Help" and I honestly believe he is. I work with Josh on a regular basis for my own personal mortgages and I refer a majority of my clients to him throughout the year. If a client ever calls me stressed out that the broker they decided to work with (often a family friend or from a bank) can't get them financing then my first call is to Josh. On numerous occasions he has simply given me detailed and specific advice on how to counsel those other Brokers on how to get funding for the buyers. In my experience, he hasn't been concerned that the buyers are not working with him and he hasn't hesitated in helping me to help them. In an industry where most people are only concerned about the next sale, Josh has gone above and beyond to help me on several occasions where he isn't even working with the person he is indirectly helping. I remember having a client who was unable to get a mortgage from their bank, they were a high net-worth client to the bank and they still couldn't do it. The client had been living in Australia for the previous 3 years because they were posted there with their oil and gas job and been posted back to Calgary. Their bank in Canada would not recognize their credit history from Australia, even though they had been working with this bank for at least a decade and had a large sum on deposit. The bank basically said "Sorry there is nothing we can do". I called Josh and I explained the situation and that we had 2 days left in out condition period. Josh went out of his way to bring this deal together and the buyer was very grateful. Josh and his team confirmed the buyer's financing history in Australia and were able to use that data here in Canada and present it to a lender here, who in-turn made an exception for the buyer because he was clearly a great candidate for a mortgage. Without Josh's help this buyer would have not been able to purchase their dream home here in Calgary.

I have worked with Josh and his team on a number of personal home and investment properties ventures over the years now. His knowledge is second to none in this area. Whether I needed a new home mortgage, a renewal or a Heloc he was well versed in advising on what was best for me in each situation. And was always very diligent in finding me the best rate which always trumped what any bank was offering directly. I now consider him and his wonderful family friends.

Josh at HMG was an amazing broker to deal with. His patience for our stupid questions was unreal, his communication with us throughout the process was amazing and he was able to come back to us with a mortgage that made my friends jealous. We are now looking at moving and possibly porting our mortgage. Now having been able to look back at it, Josh helped set us up with a mortgage that is allowing us to do this without penalty. I know some people go simply for the lowest rate, but Josh helped us see that there is a lot more involved in a mortgage than the rate. Great guy, great service - I've recommended him to over 3 close friends already and won't hesitate to do it again.

Josh has now helped me twice with the financing and refinancing of my home. Just as interest rates were climbing he secured me a rate even lower than I got 5 years ago which made me extremely happy. He is very forthcoming with providing good, timely and clear information that kept me apprised of matters throughout the process. I would highly recommend him!
