About Pulse Studios
IT ALL STARTED WHEN...
Creative Director Tara Wilson, a Hip Hop and Contemporary dancer, teacher and choreographer was busy chasing her dreams: offering Hip Hop classes in Calgary and bringing pioneers of Hip Hop and Streetdance to Calgary through and event she created called Get Down! She and Vince Truong met when he came to the event. Years later, united by their shared passion for Hip Hop and Streetdance, Vince, a computer software developer at the time, and his future wife Gill Co, an HR rep in the oil and gas industry, joined Tara and her husband Peter Strickland. Together Tara, Peter, Vince and Gill opened the doors of Pulse Studios – Calgary’s first, and only, dance studio dedicated exclusively to Hip Hop and Streetdance on January 24, 2011.
Pulse Studios continues to bring together the finest artists in the Calgary Hip Hop community to share their gifts, along with artists from across the globe to deliver world-class education in Hip Hop and Streetdance to the Calgary community.

Who says you have to be young to dance! If you're looking for an empowering place to learn something new, Pulse is a great place!

Ryan is great with the kids and the class is 45 minutes which is the perfect length for the age group. My kid is getting exercise and cultivating a talent, what more could you ask for. Fees aren’t brraking the bank account either!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ BEST.DANCE.STUDIO.EVER. I have taken hip hop dance classes on and off at various studios for 10 years. Most places focus mainly on teaching choreography. At Pulse, you get the best of all worlds. Warm-up, sometimes a little history lesson, basic hip hop moves and their names and choreography. The teachers are very kind and patient. I'm so glad I found Calgary's only dance studio dedicated exclusively to all things hip hop. :)

The staff, from reception to the instructors are so friendly and welcoming that I really feel like part of a positive community. Hip Hop is great exercise, social and a new learning experience which I know as a psychologist supports good brain health.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This studio rules!! I’ve taken adult classes there and now have my toddler in a hip hop class of her own!! The cleanliness is unreal, the teachers are talented and friendly! Most of all my kiddo has THE BEST TIME every week. Ballet what!?!?!?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is our second year with Pulse- Evolution class. My daughter has been loving it and I think its because the people are kind and enthusiastic. My daughter wants to learn and work hard because of this. She has fun and these instructors are bringing out the creative side within her. I have never had to push her to go to dance. She wants to go. Additionally the instructors know what they are doing and have a huge history of dance experience. They know how to deal with adults and kids and their passion for dance shines. We've taken dances classes other places. This is by far the most positive for my daughter. Ryan -her current Instructor has been so great! She really enjoys his classes and says how nice and encouraging he is all the time!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My kids are addicted to Pulse Studios. It is such an amazing place to dance, learn and connect with other people. My son has been going on and off since he was about 4 years old. It helps kids build strength, confidence and just have tons of fun dancing to fantastic music. My son just finished a spring camp and he's hopeful I book him for more soon. I highly recommend this dance studio!!
