Gorgeous patch of wilderness not too far from Regina, and extra special because public access nature areas are rare around here. Pets and mountain bikes are not allowed, nor is the trail suitable for wheelchairs or strollers. The trail hazards and scramble out of the valley make the view at the top all the more exquisite. Highly recommend this out-of-the-way, hike-at-your-own-risk wildlife refuge to intrepid wanderers and nature-lovers. Combine an excursion with brunch at 641 Grill in Craven for the perfect countryside adventure. Suggestions for a pleasant visit: - wear appropriate footwear (no sandals) -- cacti grow along/on the trail and can puncture soft soled shoes; - pay attention to your surroundings -- the whole area is crisscrossed by many forking wildlife trails and there is no directional signage; - exercise caution if you tackle the "stairs" up the steep embankment you can see from the parking lot. Exposed re-bar sticking up out of the hill could easily impale a clumsy hiker; - take appropriate precautions for ticks, especially in the spring. In 2018, my visits in April were tick-free, whereas during a visit in mid-May our party of four people encountered over two dozen ticks.

A lovely walk to be enjoyed in the changing seasons. Provides beautiful view of length of the valley. Can make a choice of how long or short you want it to be.

The outside path was a bit hard to find, so we ended up doing the harder one. That said it was a gorgeous hike! Everyone loved it. Path was easy to follow. Lots of flowers and wildlife.

It is a hidden gem of a hiking spot if you live in the Regina area. It is hiking only. No pets, ATVs, horses, mountain bike, etc... The trails are not marked but are well used / maintained so markers are not required (easy to navigate). There are multiple loops. The trail is fairly steep in spots. Great views of the valley from the top. If you go in the early fall the colors are great. The parking lot is small. Holds about 10 vehicles. Was not busy when we arrived but had 6 or 7 vehicles when we left. The last 6 kms of road to the parking lot is gravel.

A hidden gem only a short 30 minute drive north of Regina. Located east of Craven in the Qu'appelle Valley. Expect to climb from the bottom of the valley to the top, but you will be rewarded with the views! This hike offers a beautiful view down the valley in both directions from a gorgeous lookout. There are a few trail options that will give you a few loop options along opposing ridges. The trail head has a very small parking lot and this location is not busy at all. Enjoy the peace and tranquility of nature all by yourself at Hidden Valley!

Very beautiful trails, definitely an uphill trek but the view is worth it!

AMAZING uphill hike that's well worth the views on the way back down. What a hidden gem, highly recommend for a true Saskatchewan scenic trek. Especially pretty in Autumn. Look up the geocaches along the way too!
