I had Herb out to fix a problem with my Fridgidaire Fridge. There was water leaking down the front of my fridge where my water and ice cube dispenser were located. Herb replaced the "motor fan" (I think that's what it was called) because he said the cold air wasn't circulating properly so the ice in the dispenser was melting and running down behind the dispenser causing the leak along with causing water staining to the front of my brand new fridge. (Warranty work was paid for by Fridgidaire) The problem persisted, unfortunately I didn't have the time to contact Fridgidaire right away so I asked my Family to just stop using the dispensers. Sadly too many weeks went by and by the time I got around to contacting Fridgidaire my warranty ran out (3 weeks late). I decided to contact Herb directly as I figured since he didn't fix the problem in the first place he would warranty his work. Fridgidaire was willing to provide the parts for free, but it was up to me to pay for the labour. I had Herb come out a second time, explained the situation again and discussed with him the fact that I felt the labour should be covered by him because it hadn't been fixed in the first place. If it had we wouldn't be having this conversation. His exact words to me were "the symptoms were the same", but he would need to review his notes. He continued to inform me that his call out fee was $80 or $100 (I can't remember the exact amount) and that the part I would need would be a total charge of $180! $180 to fix a problem that he should've already fixed. Had he diagnosed it properly in the first place I wouldn't be paying out of pocket, it would've been covered under warranty. He left my home telling me he would be in touch. I made it very clear that I felt he should warranty his work. I was very blunt and couldn't be more transparent. He called me a couple days later and left a voice mail letting me know he wouldn't be fitting the bill for his labour and that if I wanted the work done it would cost $180! Here's the moral to my story: if you don't care about a business standing behind their work, if you want shotty workmanship then call Herb. If you decide that you expect better from the business owners in Kamloops then call Giddens. They stand by their work. They came after this incident with Herb and fixed the problem and I have only great things to say about them. I will never ever use Herb for anything ever again! Herb even went so far as to explain to me that warranty work only pays $90 for the call out. Even if he comes out two or three times he's still only paid the one charge of $90. Why as a consumer do I care about what he makes on the warranty work? I'm not the business owner. Fix the problem in the first place and the $90 would be an adequate amount of money to get paid for the hour he was in my home!!! I'd like to make $90 an hour! Very very dissatisfied! In response to Herbs comment to my original review above: Fridgidaire did in fact warranty the seal because it was a known defect, which I found out after I had Giddens fix the problem and btw they fixed it FREE OF CHARGE. Herb’s can say what they will. They have their own perspective of the situation. I respect that. This review is based on mine. My advice: read Herb’s responses to the poor reviews listed. They’re a testament to the way they treat their customers. If I couldve given them 0 stars I would’ve. Such poor customer service and such a poor response to my review.

Update: I've just bought a propane freezer from Herb. He was very helpful and accommodating, I'm very happy. Old review: it' a genuine caring and very professional business, will be buying my appliances there. As a business owner I believe that we must have a database on people with reviews. Imagine how many idiots would be stranded.

We had an appointment arranged with Herbs appliances, through whirlpool two weeks ago, the appointment was made about two weeks in advanced. I stayed home from work and waited all day for someone to show up. No one did. We eventually talked to someone from Herbs's who said they think they new what the problem was, and would order a part prior to coming to take a look at the washing machine, and would come take a look right away. Since then we have not heard from or been able to get through to any of the numbers on their website or the one we were provided. I have left multiple messages. It has been two weeks since we were told by whirlpool that someone from Herbs would be at our house to fix our washer and still no luck. Please hire a receptionist, or additional technicians if you are unable to keep up with your phone calls or service calls, as it is extremely frustrating to not be able to get through to a local business.

In Jan.2020 I bought a LG washer and dryer after delivery and setup there was a thumping on rotation of drum. I was told by LG to use it for a few weeks to see if the noise would go away and if not they would contact Herbs. Herb phoned me and I was told he would order the rollers and would give me a call when they came in now we are into February 2020. Waited for about a month and was told by the lady in the office parts have not arrived. For the next eight months nothing but lies phone screening on both my phone and my wife's phone. During the eight months I kept in contact with both Home depot Kamloops and LG.one morning first week in November 2020 I got through and Herb answered the phone and denied my claim but then all of a sudden found my file Lol and he would be up to check the dryer by the end of the week { Friday} he arrived on Friday took the top of the dryer off and I was told manufactures defect rollers were hitting the weld that was to large and that I would have to live with it and he would sent a report in. Phoned LG. wondering what was going on and found out it took him two months to send in the report. Was told by LG that report was unacceptable that they would have it fixed or replaced that was in January 2021 and still waiting the date now is March 03/2021

We were so happy with the service! Herb was very efficient and did the repair on our fridge's ice maker in record time; knowing exactly what the issue was. He was polite and professional, and very concious and respectful of Covid proticol in our home. We will definitely call on them again in the future if needed.

A certain repair man blew me off. Never phoned back or showed up after speaking with him briefly and ignored my calls and text. I launched a complaint with Maytag and Herbs over his very unprofessional attitude. Edit in response to owner: The order was only canceled after Herbs called me weeks after the initial phone call with the repair man. As said above, after several failed attempts to get ahold of the repair man I then called another company to do the work for me as I couldn't wait another two weeks! Sorry but I do not have the luxury of waiting for repair men to pick up the phone when I have children and a broken washing machine.

We had an issue with our fridge fan. It took Samsung over a month and a half to schedule a repair, not impressed with Samsung. That said, when Herb arrived, he was able to determine the issue very promptly and offered us great service. Very straightforward guy, no BS. Highly recommend his company.

Herb just completed a warranty repair of our 36” Dacor gas range and I have to say I’m glad the range needed service because I got to meet Herb. Great guy with great service. I appreciate the quick action he took and the good communication along the way.
