A really nice place to hike up to, but got to say, there were a LOT of mosquitoes. You should definitely bring a good amount of mosquito repellent.

Great spot, well situated on our way to Panorama Ridge & Garibaldi Lake region. Camp is clean & raised plots for each site is a bonus.

Camped here August long weekend 2021. It's a nice site. Lots of wooden pallet style tent pads, many are big enough for two, 2-3 person tents. The main water source is the creek itself. Water is probably safe enough to drink on its own, but it's best to bring purification tablets or to boil the water before use. The first week of August was super crazy with bugs. We got eaten alive because we were not expecting it to be so bad. I was swatting groups of 3-7 mosquitoes with every swing! There are two basic outhouses (bring toilet papers and/or wipes). The bear cache has a choice of lockers or a pulley system (hook your bag onto a line and hoist it up). Neither option is water proof, although the lockers will provide a bit of protection. The campground is about 8-9 km from the parking lot and you'll be heading uphill all the way there, including some mind-numbing switchbacks. The Black Tusk and Panorama Ridge are 7-9km continuing on from the campground.

An excellent campground in Garabaldi but beware of the bugs! The campground consists of all raised wooden platforms which help to keep your tent dry if it rains. There is no cooking shelter at this camp site which is one of the draw backs compared with Taylor Meadows or Garibaldi Lake campgrounds. There are bear resistant food lockers for storing your supplies and two pit toilets. A small creek, presumably Helm Creek, runs right along side the campground and is perfect for collecting water (30 second walk from the campsite). Like was mentioned in previous reviews, it is generally a quieter campground when compared with the other two. Beware of the bugs at Helm Creek. Both mosquitos and black flies are quite bad. Makes it unenjoyable to cook or hang out in open areas. I would recommend bringing a mesh bug cover for your head, I can't overstate how useful this would be. Bug spray is a must!

Beautiful campground and excellent base for hikes to Helm Glacier, Panorama Ridge, Black Tusk and other peaks in the area. It is less crowded than many of the other campgrounds in Garibaldi Park and does not feel crowded even when all spots are taken. The campground is about 8km from the trailhead. The trail is incredibly well maintained and fairly easy to hike. There are some switchbacks about 3kms into the hike with some serious elevation gain but the trail flattens out again from km 5 onwards. The campground is equipped with bear lockers and outhouses. Water is available from the creek right next to the campground. As with all back country hikes make sure to be well equipped and prepared for different weather conditions. It can get really cold at night, even in the summer.

Beautiful, snowy campground! The snow was pretty soft by late morning so snow shoes are highly recommended unless you enjoy postholing. Even with the snow shoes it was definitely slower going than it would normally be.

Beautiful site about 9km hike from the Cheakamus parking lot. Tent pads, pit toilettes and bear cache/hang are available. Easy access to Helm Creek for water. It was relatively buggy, but easily manageable with bug spray, bug net and/or a thermacell. About 7.5km hike to Panorama Ridge and a bit more to Black Tusk.
