These folks also own a construction company. The owner, Matt, was supposed to show up at my house to evaluate a poor floor installation he did. We set a time and date and he simply didn't show up. He has never responded to an email, text or phone call since - I believe he realized what the address was, knew his company ran into issues here, and decided he wanted nothing to do with warranty work. Steer clear unless you want to work with somebody who does a poor job, does not warranty their work, and will happily cease all communications with you, even if you offer to pay for part of any necessary remediation.

Update September 6, 2021: Annex Construction took a $1000 deposit from us for a job they did not end up doing and have not returned our money to us. We started making some headway in July and received $400 from Matt. He promised the $600 balance August 31 but we have yet to receive. We have attempted to contact by phone and text with no response. Looks like we are getting ghosted again. Unfortunately, our experience with Annex Construction/Landscaping has not been a positive one. Matt and Jesse provided us a deck rebuild quote November 2020. At that time we gave them a $1000 deposit to be the first job this spring. In hindsight this was our first mistake - not sure asking for a deposit is normal practice. In April, Matt came out to measure, confirm plans and told us to proceed with finding some in stock composite/patio stones so they could get the job started without waiting for materials. A few days later I contacted him to let him know we found some composite and patio stones. This is when the ghosting started. Numerous phone calls and text messages to both Matt and Jesse with no replies. Mid May, Matt finally called me back, he apologized and we agreed to move forward with the job the 2nd week of June. I told him my husband would call him that evening as he had some questions about the composite choices. Then the ghosting started again! Wouldn’t answer our phone calls. Phone and text messages not returned. At this point we knew this wasn’t the type of company we wanted to work with so we messaged them to advise we would be moving on and to return our $1000 deposit. Interestingly enough I received an instant reply from Matt advising our deposit would be returned to us by e-transfer after the May long weekend. More then 6 weeks later, several promised dates and still no refund. I would assume when a customer gives a deposit, it would be held in trust for the job and they should have no issue returning it to us. We were really looking forward to our new outdoor space and it’s now too late to find someone else to do it and we will have to wait until next year. Very disappointing and a lot of unnecessary stress.
