β β β β β On a night of fun and shenanigans, the staff offered me homemade eggnog and sprout chickpeas. I felt super comfortable and safe there. Great guys, mediocre prices.

β β β β β This has been our long-time local corner store for late night snacks or when we realize we're out of coffee cream and a walk to Safeway at Commercial feels too far. Some friendly staff here, but 2 bad experiences mean we won't be coming back: 1. Older gentleman wouldn't take a $20 bill against $5 worth of items. Strange, you'd think we offered a $100 bill from the way he treated it, but we shrugged it off as a one-off
2. Today, younger employee was at the cash. When I asked why he punched in a small bag of chips marked at $1.69 (literally printed on the bag) at $5.00, he wasn't interested in changing it. I left empty handed, won't be back.
Edit: Thanks for your response. It was a snack size bag stamped at $1.69. Not a large bag. This was pointed out to the employee who, rather than acknowledge his oversight, simply reiterated that it was 5 dollars.

β β β β β This place is not up to business standards. It is regularly unstocked, unclean and I have on two instances purchased food products only to find them moldy. I am usually not one to complain but this place needs new ownership.

β β β β β This place has a complete assortment of hard to find drinks. They have parking and it's right beside both the Nanaimo and Broadway bus stops, so it's really accessible. I go here to buy really rare pop and candy. They also have a bitcoin machine.
