Food: 9/10, price: 8/10, atmosphere: 10/10 Food: very surprised by how well the lamb sirloin came out. Once again, this cuisine is not my fav thus the score is affected accordingly. Beware. Halibut was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The sauce is quite soupy and has a hint of chorizo in it which elevated to the point where chef Ramsey won’t complain it’s bland. Price: kind of expected given it’s such a nice place and they do wedding and it’s right by the lake. Atmosphere: this is why you come here. The building was built by a realtor in 1912, bought by the city in 70s and converted into a restaurant in 80s. Lots of people come here for wedding too. The outdoor patio has direct view of deer lake and Metrotown.

The lamb sirloin hit it out of the park. The reduction was flavourful and memorable for all the right reasons. Here for our anniversary ❀ and no disappointment!. Hart house crushed it. Keenly looking forward to a return here. Wow thanks for a spectacular time. We shall return!

It was my first visit to Hart House and it's in beautiful Deer Lake Park and has lots of charm, and it's got beautiful ambience in the dining room. The staff were very accommodating with our needs for a quiet dining spot and found us a perfect little niche. The menu has recently changed with lots to choose for vegetarians, vegans or non-vegetarians and a solid wine list. We chose the spicy ground lamb on lavash with mint and yoghurt sauce. It was a hearty starter and definitely plenty for two and meant to share. It would be large enough for a main on its own. It was spicy, comforting and delicious and beautifully presented. We had the butter poached Sablefish with grilled fennel and duck confit roasted Yukon gold potatoes, roasted peppers and topped with caviar as one main course. The Sablefish was unctuous, beautifully flaky, and the potatoes were rich and perfectly crispy outside and creamy inside, the peppers and grilled fennel cut through the richness for some nice balance and sweetness. The braised beef shortribs on a bed of Yukon gold mashed potatoes, with sweet almonds, earthy mushrooms was hearty, delicious, the beef spoon tender, the almonds adding richness and crunch and the dukkeh adding a finishing touch in a rich sauce. It was absolutely delicious. Dessert had plenty of options again and we tried the broken down baklava tuile pannacotta. The idea was to break thru the tuile into the rich pannacotta. Unfortunately the texture of the baklava tuile was too chewy so saw several diners lose the delicious toppings. Much better idea to take the wafer (that was not a tuile which is delicate and would crack easily) aside and enjoy with the delicious baklava pannacotta. I loved the idea of how to serve it, it did not work but the actual dessert is silky smooth, rich, satisfying end to a fabulous dinner. We will definitely be back. A lovely evening at Hart House.

Great food and the services was wonderful even with it being a packed restaurant. I will definitely be back to try more of the menu.

Very quiet things haven't picked up since covid yet but an excellent spot to eat on the patio especially during the hot weather. Really enjoyed our lunch with a cool breeze off the lake. The food is top notch, excellent quality and flavours!

We had such a great Saturday morning at Hart House! We sat in the sunroom and the light beaming in the windows was just beautiful. Our food was amazing and so flavourful and the servers were lovely. They have a parking lot and you can finish your meal with a walk around Deer Lake or check out Burnaby village museum (which is free). I can’t wait to come back when it’s patio season and eat outside. Highly recommend!

If you've never been, you should give it a try. It is a very solid experience. Boundaries aren't being pushed, is not exotic, but it's a fabulous venue with great service, and great food. Great for a birthday, anniversary, or just because.

This is a perfect experience. We was visited them at their brunch time, and we luckily meet the sunny day so we can enjoy those beautiful and delicious food with wonderful view. Sorry I forgot the name of my order, but I remember it tastes so good that I almost lost my mind. If you never been there before, strongly recommend this perfect place for you.
