Not only does this shop have SO MUCH selection, the staff are remarkable. The hat I was looking for was out of season but they managed to find me several options from their winter stock. She showed me the differences in material, structure, and quality. She gave me a few price point options after asking my budget - which I so appreciate. I had been to other shops where I was shown the most expensive item right off the bat. She taught me how to hold my hat properly so the top is not damaged. She showed me how to store it properly, upside down so the brim does not warp. She showed me how to pack it properly in a suitcase as I was flying home that night. I LOVE my Bailey Curtis hat, more than I ever expected to love a hat. I can't thank the staff enough for providing not only a successful purchase but educated me in how to care for my investment. If you are looking for a hat and don't know where to start...START HERE! Staff were down to earth, so easy to chat with and made the entire experience memorable. Thank you!! I wish I could remember the woman's name I dealt with, her name was so beautiful and unique. I'm convinced if I tried to spell it, I would probably butcher it. Anyhow, thank you so much and I will continue to recommend this amazing local family run shop to everyone I know!

I used to work here when it was β€œEdie’s Hats”. They have a great selection of hats at Granville Island tourist prices. Knowledgeable staff for the most part who will help you find what you’re looking for or let you try on stuff to find your own style. Need to clean and steam your old felt fedora? Come in and they can help you. I came in today to get a tweed patch work golf cap but was disappointed to find out they had put them away until next summer, but was able to clean up my fedora and style it how I wanted. Always a great spot to stop in, the big comfy leather chair on the side is almost too comfortable and Almost hard to get out of, but gives you a spot to take a look at what they have selection wise until you’re ready to find your dream hat. Just be ready to spend some money.

Very cute spot! We came here during our visit to Vancouver and discovered this lovely gem in Grandview public market. The owner was so so lovely and nice! She helped me and my bf pick out our hats. We had such a fun time shopping here. Every time I wear my Kangol hat, I’ll think of great memories of Vancouver and my visit to this shop.

Had a great experience with Deb. A fedora is an investment and when my young son (a collector) couldn't chose between 2, she laid out a comparison & sent us away to think rather than force a sale. When we returned a few hours later we were confident in our purchase.

I bought a nice hat for my partner at Xmas, unfortunately it didn't fit. When we went back , they didn't have his size and wasn't sure when in the next yr they would. It was disappointing. We had to settle for a different hat because they also didn't have money back, only exchange s.

This was such a fun hat shop. The staff are excellent and I wish all stores had this level of customer service (then again, not all stores have β€œmagic”… this one does!). I had no idea what type of hat I wanted (only that I wanted a sun hat in a neutral colour… how much more vague can I get??). Yet, the staff encouraged me to try on multiple hats without reservation. I eventually gravitated towards the Lillie & Cohoe hats and there was a white cotton one I liked but they didn’t have my size left. Still they took my name and number down because they were getting some linen Lillie & Cohoe hats soon and would contact me upon their arrival. I ended up going on the Lillie & Cohoe website and ordered that white hat (Lake Country - Freda is the style) in my size but I will still go back to this hat shop to check out other hats they get. I like the fact that this hat shop supports Canadian hat businesses like Lillie & Cohoe. A quality hat is worth every dollar you spend on it!

Very nice hats and cute store. Got a lovely Panama hat there a year ago but the stitching around the cloth band started coming loose after only half a year. When I took it to the shop was told to just super glue it back or take it to a seamstress elsewhere (and have it fixed out of my pocket). Asked how this could happen so quickly on a quite expensive hat and without answering they questioned how I'd been taking care of it instead?! I had followed their instructions strictly on how to wear it and how to hang it when not in use. Wasn't expecting a refund but definitely expected better customer services and fewer snobby comments. Probably won't go back again. TLDR: Beautiful hats but snobby staff and unhelpful customer service.

Granville Island Hat Shop is a legacy shop, being open in this area for over 30 years and Lillie & Cohoe is pleased to be part of the story. As a hat maker and supplier to the shop I can say we are totally impressed with the way Andrea and Deb manage their business. When visiting Vancouver, I try to get in and say hello to the owners or the staff on hand that day. All of them love hats, which I think is wonderful! A shop well worth a visit.
