Grants Your Independent Grocer

My husband just returned from getting shopping very upset and hurt by the way the cashier treated him. He wears a face shield as he can not wear a mask. She made a point of leaving the till and going to tell the person assigning which till you go too that he should be at customer service then when she had served him she made it known loudly that she had to clean the conveyor belt. She made him feel dirty and humiliated. Needless to say we won’t be shopping here again

I was treated very poorly by a staff member stocking the shelves, saw their name tag said Michelle. Not impressed at all, I wasn’t even asking for help she was just rude to me as I was near her in the same aisle. *Update* They have now made the maze to get into their store even more of an rigmarole! It’s very poorly laid out and not family friendly whatsoever. I had to very awkwardly carry my 6 month old baby in his carrier over the entire gated maze. I tried to just walk up to the doors while carrying him in his carrier, because the maze is barely big enough for a single person to walk through, but was very rudely told walk through the gated area! Where I then had to wash my hand while still holding my son in his carrier because I can not have a cart until I wash my hands, at least that’s what the staff member demanded of me and I could not set my son on the floor because carts were being pushed in and other people were walking in. Once I was finally able to get a cart and put my son and carrier in it I was then pushed and shoved all throughout the store by other customers and many staff members who’s attitudes were all just awful and pushy towards a small woman and her baby. I have since discovered the Independent in Walkerton and I must say, it was the best shopping experience I have had in the last three years! All the customers and staff members were polite and very courteous! You don’t have to follow any mazes or other over the top protocols. I will never be shopping at Grants ever again!!

Its a slam dunk.. Grants has the most variety.. Great cuts of meat prepared on-site.. very good pre-prepped selection of salads and fresh produce.. very wide selection of frozen products and fantastic baked goods In the area.. hands down the best grocery store around.. its worth the drive to Hanover..

Your standard Loblaws subsidiary. The staff is great, really efficient and helpful and their meat department quite good with Excellent store made sausage. But their produce is always a disappointment.

My experience at Grant's today was great until there was a customer walking around the store with a very large old dog. She was basically dragging the dog down the dairy aisle with its tail between its legs. It was NOT a service dog or a CNIB dog. I wasn't aware that Grant's is now allowing their customers to bring in their dogs. This is the second time this has happened in this store since January! What about all your customers that are allergic. Everyone saw the dog including staff and no one said anything to her!!! That's why I rated a one star!

The Staff were amazing. The prices have gone up But, What store hasn't!! They're great prices and deals around the store are great..Thanks Grants Hanover

Has everything a person needs, I love the bakery, and customer service is good. Prices are higher than most other places , but given the size of the store to operate totally understandable. There's always lots of cashier's to get you on your way quickly.

Always good produce and meat department. Very seldom out of stock for most items. Clean bright store that is following all covid protocols. Staff is always helpful. Quick easy check out. PC express service is also well run and easy to use as well.
