as a air bnb owner, i try from time to time other places to get a feeling of being a guest. staying at Sara's was a great experience, we are very similar in what we offer, Sara bent backward to meet my expectations, it is a great experience to be in her remote location with all comfort and i admire all her genius ideas she had with her way to heat water and create electricity. she is definitely a hard worker. thank you Sara, you are a five star.

We spent our annual holiday here this past summer. What an amazing place Sara has! It was exactly what we needed. My son wanted to stay at a farm and that what we did. Sara was great to chat with on the phone and helped us select the most appropriate accomodation at her place to suit the needs of our family. With two small kids (ages 4 & 2) and my husband & I she recommended staying in the main house. Shared kitchen inside or use of the outdoor kitchen. The main house has 1.5 baths inside on the main level and the 2 bedrooms were perfect, one room had a queen bed and the second had a queen and a twin. She is great with children and had no problems showing them how she milks the goats and let's the chickens out. Farm fresh eggs and goats milk was an added bonus. I highly recommend Grandma's Farm for a place to escape city life and enjoy the simple things. Kaslo is just 40 minutes drive away and offers some good restaurants and beaches. The community of Meadow Creek is only 15 minutes away and has a gas station with the best coffee!

Grandma Sara is simply the best! She has old school values and an incredible attitude for the wellness of the planet. I didn’t have my kids but will have to bring them another time, she says she loves having them feed the chickens, pick eggs and help her with the gardening. The cabin in simple, rustic and exactly what you’d expect being out in the bush. The bed was very comfortable and it was warm and cozy without the distractions of modern society. She has all sorts of fun projects on her land. Being off grid She has made it a playground for the curious handyman. highly recommended!

I had the pleasure of staying at Grandma's Farm Vacations, in the smaller cabin. The cabin is small and basic but clean, quiet, cute and has everything I needed. The outdoor kitchen was fantastic, especially the view of the mountains. The hot outdoor shower was also a treat. Sara is a great, helpful host and I loved spending time with The Purcell Wilderness Conservancy, which borders Grandma's Farm, has endless stunning wilderness areas to explore. I highly recommend checking out some of the great hikes in the area. I'd recommend this spot to anyone looking for a relaxing, slow-paced get-away that is comfortable with basic, glamping-style, accommodation in a beautiful setting.

We had an amazing stay in a cabin last weekend. I took my cross country skis and I was overwhelmed with all of the trails right from the door. I highly recomend taking a retreat in the mountains like we did. The farm fresh eggs and local knowledge from Sara was amazing. I can't wait to visit next time when the wood burning sauna is done or its garden season. We will be back.

Thanks again Sara for a comfortable and cozy stay in your awesome homestead and for sharing the experience of your hard-working and resourceful lifestyle. The beds were so comfortable, the bedrooms quiet and the common living area very relaxing and scenic and the food and conversions were great! What an ideal base to have for all kinds of vacation adventures including hiking, biking, kayaking, snowshoeing and stand-up paddling in the beautiful remote areas nearby! We will be back! Cheers, Grant and Louise

Sara is as down to earth as her farm. She is a wonderful host and an incredible woman. I wished I could have stayed for weeks to learn from her. I greatly enjoyed our conversations over homemade rhubarb crumble, farm fresh egg breakfasts, and whilst picking raspberries from her patch. My stay at the farm was exactly what I needed on my solo cycling getaway. It provided the peace and solitude I was seeking. The cabin was darling and the views were impressive in every direction. The farm is a wonderful place to unplug, slow the pace of life, reconnect with nature, and learn about sustainable living. If you are coming to bike, hike or fish, adventures are right on the doorstep. Thank you again Sara, for an unforgettable experience. I will be back soon! :D

Sara is a very welcoming host. We met Seamus, her sweet wee Scottish terrier, and had a tour of her wood and solar powered house as soon as we arrived. Everything is off grid. Her home and cabins are a magical getaway from city life. We brought our own food but would definitely take Sara up on her offer of some prepared meals the next time we come! Her garden and chicken run are incredible. Everything... the outdoor shower and fire stoked hot tub (this may have been my highlight), the outdoor kitchen, and what I dubbed the β€œloo with a view”, the trails she has carved through her property... are worth the drive and definitely worth the stay. We will definitely be back!
