Gondola Incomparable Pizza - Calgary

Loved them for years, recently they only answer one of 10 phone calls tho and it's very aggravating as you can walk up and there open. It's hard to find as good of a thin crust as there's but the lack of answering the phone has made me go else were.

Once upon a time in small-town Dauphin opened a pizza joint named 'gondola'. As a small boy my mom would take there for ham & pineapple thin crust..no respectable pizza joint ever ever put pineapple on a pizza and thin crust was something only a new york mom would love. But gondola did. With non-stop pop! Gondola got bigbigbig and like so many others went basically bust with only a few diehard owners remaining. But this joint..fire ?

THEY HAVE BEEN THERE FOR OVER 12 YEARS AND WE HAVE ORDER THEIR THIN CRUST WITH BACON AND SALAMI. ONE OF OUR OWN FAVORITES! THE BACON IS REAL BACON CRUMBLED. IT'S THE BEST THIN CRUST PIZZA IN TOWN! WE HAVE BEEN FAITHFUL CUSTOMERS FOR OVER 10 YEARS! PRICES HAVE WENT UP JUST LIKE EVERYWHERE ELSE, SO NO COMPLAINTS FROM US.THE BACON MAKES IT A LITTLE GREASY BUT ALL THE BETTER!!!! 10 STARS IN OUR EYES! OH AND NO RELATIONS TO THEM OR WORK FOR THEM. WE ARE JUST FAITHFUL CUSTOMERS!

Not typically a person to leave reviews or tips when pickup. Especially the first time i try a new place this time was different. As somewhat of a pizzapreneur I've tried over 100 pizza places with at least 50 in calgary alone. Can't say much about the regular crust pizza but the thin crust pizza here is something I've been looking for for quite awhile. Fair warning tho it's not a thin crust to overload with toppings. Suggest keeping it to 1 or 2. The flavors of the toppings will pop in a way you just don't get with other places. What makes it truly incomparable is the crust. It's so thin you get that crunch your looking for with a hint of the soft fluffyness (very very thin). Almost like a baked tortilla with a second softer layer on top. There's not much sauce but it's just the right amount. No cheaping out on cheese either. But not so much that it becomes greasy. I can't believe I'm saying that as I'm typically a quadruple cheese kinda person. Not only was the pizza great but the people are to. Despite not receiving a tip they included an extra can of pop for us despite not receiving a tip or having any idea that they would receive any kind of review. I'm not sure I'll be trying the original crust tho as the thin was just so good. But if that's your sort of thing give it a go. I just have 2 other places I've really liked for thicker crust pizzas. To give a hint one ads sweet sauce witb there pizza sauce. The other adds eggs to the cheese to get a extra crispy top. I have to say this goes on my list in the top 3 best pizza places in calgary. And is number 1 for thin crust. Next time they will get a tip... but more importantly for them....there will be a next time in the very near future.

portion size is good but still could be cheaper because of its lack of flavor. taste like greasy cheese on bread, no spices, herbs, or anything

My parents always ordered here since I was a little girl. Their thin crust Hawaiian Pizza is one of a kind! No one makes very tasty thin crust like they do. They’ve always made it the same for years and the originality has never gone away or change. BEST THIN CRUST ever.

Worst pizza I have ever had. No name, frozen pizza is better than this garbage. The cardboard box probably tastes better than Gondola Pizza.

Every time you order the pie is consistent and full of flavour. I have been ordering here for years and if you love thin crust theirs is the best. I would give 10 stars if I could.
