★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautiful setting, clean facilities, friendly staff. However, you are across the river from a rail siding and a railway line. Trains a few times a night (the westbound ones use their horn!) and the night we were there, dozens of construction trains and units moving back and forth, beeping all the while. Very annoying. If you're in a camper maybe it's not bad, but in the tent we didn't get more than a few hours' sleep the whole night. The cliff beside the track exacerbated the noise.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We'll come back to this campground. Knew the trains would be loud at night but it wasn't an issue in a trailer, for us or for kids. (100% ear-plugs if tenting, as the banging of the track switching goes on for hours.) GREAT location for mountain biking, with much of the best riding in the area ridable right from your site. Bike wash as well. Also excellent proximity to the bike park, pool, and splash park for kids - and of course the rest of Golden. Staff were friendly and other than the trains, it was quiet with plenty of families. Really cool 7-tent group site, and a few other nice sheltered tenting sites, at the back of the campground/base of the mountain as well. Would be wonderful if there were full service sites/more with any services at all, and perhaps a playground on site (though the nearby school playground is close).

Nice walking path. Picnic table each site.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We had a great stay in Golden B.C. at the Municipal campground. The utilities were fine, and it is convenient to downtown. The management is very friendly and helpful. Joy allowed us to upgrade our site so we could have water as well as electric. She also was very helpful when my dates were incorrect and made arrangements for us to stay an additional night. Thanks Joy!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Quite a nice campground. Very clean, not too busy, the ladies at the front desk were very friendly. It was very close to the train tracks though, and the trains are super long (take 7:15 min to go past), and come at all hours. Also it costs $6 for a fire permit here in order to make an outdoor fire. Otherwise a very nice place with a beautiful Kicking Horse River next door.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is an okay overnighter. Check in was odd. You completed the transaction outside at an automated check in after you visit the office. Be aware. If the noise from trains will bother you don't stay here. The tracks are close. Our site, 4, was a back in right off of the road. Spaces between sites are close but not awning to slide. the park was clean and manicured. We did not use the washrooms so no comment. We would stay again if in the area.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Amazing!!! So clean and ladies were very friendly but make sure you do not come early since check in time is check in time! Loved our site #21...alot of biking trails and close to liquor store and pool! You do have to book online to use the pool though. Tiny little beach area at the end of trail but water is freezing!! Thanks ladies hope it is not too smokey there still:-(

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is such an incredible campground!! Our site was right on the beautiful kicking horse river with mountains in view. You’re also right in town, but surrounded by nature. Best of both worlds. The bathroom facilities are very clean and the service is great. We had a fabulous stay here and would absolutely stay again. We like watching the trains go by, and while they were louder at night than during the day which was unfortunate, they didn’t bother us too much!
