★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I met the Goldblatt lawyers in 2018 in the challenge to Bill 5 of the Doug Ford provincial government which violated the Toronto election and the City’s right to determine its own system of local governance. In an unbelievably short time, the team of lawyers from Goldblatt Partners were able to interview us and put together an amazing defence about the rights of residents and citizens to effective representation. The lawyers worked overtime, did a phenomenal amount of research and mounted an effective defence for the right to voice and political representation. This is especially important for us in terms of getting diverse women elected to Council. Their commitment to a progressive rights-based democracy is a critical contribution to Canada. Amazing lawyers indeed!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Terrible law firm. They took 20k in legal fees for a case they recommended I drop due supposed coming change in legislation. The law was never changed and I was out of the feed. terrible legal advice that cost me a ton of money. They are a pro management law firm disguised pro worker. You’re better off with a paralegal. They also argued against the provincial governments slashing of city council . While this law is terrible, a middle school civics class teaches us that municipalities are creatures of the province. All Goldlatt did was take money for a case they knew they couldn’t win, and this discouraged people from protesting and taking more aggressive campaign measures. Another negative role
