★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Owning a small business myself as well as shopping at other Global Pet Foods stores around the city I was quite surprised to be treated the way I was at this establishment. I went in looking for a coat and some treats for some of my charges. First, the selection is crap.. second, the prices are way marked up (even from the other Global stores with the exact same products... YES I regularly price compare) and third, the gentleman who 'helped' me knew next to nothing, but did try to up sell me. Will Not be returning.
Might I add I have heard of other reviews from friends of mine within the last 6 months... none of them good. Buyer/Consumer beware...
Use the Global Pet Foods in Marda Loop or Cambrian Heights... they are super friendly and helpful, have great deals and are honest to my knowledge in dealing with them for over 7 years.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Small, niche selection of foods but all of high quality. Come here to find single protein options for your pets. Also one of the only places I've seen that sells venison nuggets (frozen). I would say that the toys and accessories are tailored for smaller dogs. Knowledgeable and helpful staff.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Do not buy dog toys from Global! We bought a $20 toy for our dog and she destroyed it within minutes. I brought it back to the store and the staff were completely unhelpful and even a bit rude. They wouldn’t do anything about the poor quality of the product they sold. They don’t stand behind their products at all. Super disappointed. Will be doing all of my pet shopping elsewhere.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Stopped in as I am new to the neighborhood. Al was very knowledge which was appreciated, but I felt criticized and judged when disclosing the food I was feeding my puppy. (As recommended by my vet) It was great to hear the information he had to share, but the interpersonal interaction was not the way to make a sale.............

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My wife and I are in the planning/preparation stage for a puppy, with our new little guy who will arrive at our home shortly. When researching online with what types of food we should be feeding, we were completely overwhelmed. We decided that it would be prudent to go and speak to someone in person who could help us with a little bit of education. We stopped by for a quick visit and were lucky enough to have met Al. A "quick" stop turned into about an hour of Al taking the time to understand our situation, breed and objectives. He explained and showed us different options, pros and cons and he empowered us with enough knowledge to make an informed decision. He also took some time to tell us about the company (Canadian owned btw) and his experience. What a guy and what a great use of time on our part.
Also, we ended up purchasing a few accessories for our pup and the pricing was aligned with what we found online.
I'm not sure what else you could possibly need from a neighborhood pet store. Full marks to Al, his family and staff for doing such a great job.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We've known Al and Paulette since they opened the store in around 2013 or so. They are passionate about pets, and really go out of their way to look after human and animal customers.
We since moved away to the other side of the city, but we still make the trip to buy from West 85th when we can. This is your place to go if you want excellent, knowledgeable service, and high-end products.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Hello, I just wanted to say that me and my family usually has a great time at this location, but the reason the rating is so low is because of a bad experience we had at the store today. We felt very pressured to purchase items, and the experience just left a sour taste in our mouths. Usually a lovely place to stop by to get pet food!
